The Switzerland County Health Department will be hosting a Health Fair on Monday, April 10th at the Jack Sullivan Senior Center from 6-8 p.m.

There will be several physicians and speakers this year to give a very informative program on your health and other topics. Those who are presenting are: Dr. James Jackson, who will speak on cardiology; Greg Fillenwarth, Nurse Practitioner at the Switzerland County Nurse Managed Clinic, who will speak on obesity; Alicia Knowles from the Social Security Administration, who will give a presentation on the new Medicare Prescription Program; Jim Wingate, Switzerland County Public Health Coordinator, who will speak on emergency preparedness for Switzerland County; and Steve Allen from the Indiana State Department of Health, who will give a very informative presentation on the Pandemic flu and Terrorism.

There will be a question and answer period after each speaker, so the audience will have an opportunity to interact with the speakers and their presentations.

The Health Fair is open to all men and women of all ages. There will be something of interest for everyone. This will not only give you an opportunity to learn more about your health problems, but understand more about the health of your family.

Although we do not like to think about such things as bioterrorism and the pandemic flu, they are a part of our life now and we need to be as informed about these subjects so to protect our families.

Seating is limited, and we anticipate a large crowd to hear these speakers, so we ask that you contact the Health Department at 427-3220 to make a reservation.

There will also be goody bags given to all who attend and food and drink will be provided at the end of the program.
