As the basketball season approaches, Switzerland County varsity coaches Adam Dennis and Ashley Kitts have announced a new event for their programs.
“Hardwood Hysteria” will be held for the first time on Saturday, November 7th.
“The goal of this event is to highlight the tradition of Pacer Basketball,” Coach Dennis said. “It is my hope that former players and others who were part of the program will be able to join us and reminisce with former teammates. We are excited for the opportunity to see so many former players again. Even if you elect not to play, please join us that day.”
The day will feature two alumni games, both being played in the Switzerland County High School gym:
– At 2 p.m. that day will be the Lady Pacer Alumni Game, and all former players are welcome to participate.
- That will be followed at 3 p.m. by the Pacer Alumni Game, and again, all former players are welcome to participate.
– At 4:30 p.m. that day dinner will be served in the cafeteria, with Coach Dennis and Coach Kitts previewing their upcoming seasons.
– That will be followed by the home opener for the Switzerland County Lady Pacers, who will be playing Southwestern with the jayvee game starting at 6 p.m.
- The day will conclude with a social time at the Ogle Haus beginning at 9 p.m.

The programs are asking for $25 per player to participate. This will pay for a shirt, dinner, and a ticket to the Lady Pacer Home Opener.
Admission will be $3 for fans wanting to attend the game; and dinner tickets may be purchased for $10 online and through the Lady Pacer and Pacer Basketball programs.
Registration ends on October 25th; and those needing more information can contact Switzerland County High School at (812) 427-2626.
