H1N1 clinic this Saturday

The Switzerland County Health Department, responding to the needs of county residents who work and cannot get to the office to get an H1N1 vaccine; has announced that a one day, Saturday clinic will be held this Saturday, November 14th.

“Our intentions are to get to the people who work during the week and can’t get her during the day,” Chris See said. “Also, we hear from parents who both work and can’t bring their children down, so we’re hoping that this Saturday clinic will allow those folks to get the vaccine.”

The clinic will be held beginning at 11 a.m. that day at the Switzerland County Health Department, and will continue until 2 p.m. or until all of the vaccines that the county has on hand have been administered.

The target population for the clinic on Saturday are caregivers of children less than 6 months old; pregnant women; people from 6 months to 24 years old; and people with chronic health issues (asthma, diabetes, etc.).

The shots are free and will be given on a first come, first served basis.
