The Vevay IGA has announced a new program that will not only help organizations in the community, but will also help residents get some lunch.
Beginning tomorrow (Friday, May 8th), the IGA will be hosting “Summer Grilling for Charity” each Friday and Saturday through the summer months. The events will be held both days from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in front of the store on East Main Street.
What’s unique is that the event will also aid organizations here. IGA owner Eric Rabe is inviting any church group or any 501(c)(3) organization in Switzerland County to provide help during the event, and in turn the store will split the proceeds of the day between the organization and the store.
The store will pay all expenses from its portion of the proceeds, giving each entity the chance to make as much profit as possible.
Tomorrow (Friday, May 8th) and Saturday, May 9th, students who will be attending the Bigstuf Christian Camp in Florida this summer will be helping.
There will be hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, ribeye steak sandwiches, chips and drinks available.
Any county church group or charity organization who would like to take advantage of this opportunity should contact store manager John Brown at (812) 427-3544 to reserve a weekend.
