Switzerland County High School will hold its graduation ceremony for the Class of 2006 this Sunday, June 3rd.
The commencement will begin at 2:30 p.m.
The program will begin with senior members of the high school choir singing the National Anthem.
The processional will be played by the Switzerland County Junior-Senior High School Band; and after the seniors are seated, senior class co-secretary Stephanie Adams and senior class treasurer Hannah Findley will lead the audience in the “Pledge of Allegiance.”
Class vice president Ashley Bright will give the invocation; and high school principal Candis Haskell will welcome everyone to the graduation. This year’s baccalaureate address will be given by Pastor Mike Jones of Patriot Baptist Church.
Director of Guidance Denise Loaring will present graduates with academic honors recognition. The introduction of the class salutatorian and the class valedictorians will be made by a member of the teaching staff who was selected by the honored student. The salutatorian and valedictorians will then give their addresses to the audience.
Denise Loaring will also introduce those students who have earned a Core 40 diploma, and also the Top 10 members of the graduating class.
Principal Haskell will then certify the class; and superintendent of schools Tracy Caddell will then officially accept the class.
Diplomas will be presented by Tracy Caddell, Candis Haskell, assistant principal Kent Dunning, and Denise Loaring.
Parents of each graduate will be asked to stand as their child receives his or her diploma.
After the class members have received their diplomas, the class will be presented as graduates by class president Sara Craig. Class co-secretary Sydney Pike will then give the benediction.
The band will then play the recessional as the new graduates leave the gymnasium.
Everyone is invited to attend.
