Switzerland County High School will hold its graduation ceremony for the Class of 2006 on Sunday, June 4th. The commencement will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The program will begin with senior members of the high school choir: Maggie Eich, Kattie Eldridge, and James Williams; singing the National Anthem.

The processional will be played by the Switzerland County Junior-Senior High School Band; and after the seniors are seated, senior class treasurer Amanda Faber will lead the audience in the “Pledge of Allegiance.”

Class vice president Ashley Chase will give the invocation; and high school principal Derek Marshall will welcome everyone to the graduation. This year’s baccalaureate address will be given by pastor Roger Parrott of Vevay United Methodist Church.

Director of Guidance Denise Loaring will present graduates with academic honors recognition. The introduction of the class salutatorian and the class valedictorians will be made by a member of the teaching staff who was selected by the honored student. The salutatorian and valedictorians will then give their addresses to the audience.

Denise Loaring will also introduce those students who have earned a Core 40 diploma, and also the Top 10 members of the graduating class.

Principal Marshall will then certify the class; and superintendent of schools Tracy Caddell will then officially accept the class.

Diplomas will be presented by Tracy Caddell, Derek Marshall, assistant principal Kent Dunning, and Denise Loaring.

After the class members have received their diplomas, the class will be presented as graduates by class president Jessica Akins. Class treasurer Ashley Leonard will then give the benediction.

The band will then play the recessional as the new graduates leave the gymnasium.
