Christopher Rent! Kaulene Green of the Switzerland County YMCA has nominated five-year old Christopher Rent of Vevay, for this week’s “Good for You!” award.
Kaulene Green writes: “I would like to nominate Christopher Rent for the ‘Good for You’ award.
“On Thursday, January 3rd, as Christopher was playing in the pool with the After School Fun Club, there was also a family from Indianapolis visiting with two younger children. The older of the two, who was about four years old, was playing with Christopher, and the little boy slipped off of the bubble beach in the pool and went under the water.
“Christopher quickly grabbed the little boy and got him back on the beach, saving the boy before the guard on deck had a chance to help.
“Christopher told his grandma later of the event that he had to save the boy because if he drowned they would have to shut down the pool and he wouldn’t be able to swim
“Thanks, Christopher, for your quick thinking.”
