Sarah and Fieona Thompson! Betty Griswold of Bennington has nominated Sarah and Fieona Thompson for this week’s “Good for You” award.
Betty Griswold writes: “I would like to nominate Sarah and Fieona Thompson for the ‘Good for You’ award.
” My sister, Dorothy Rowlett is a resident of Swiss Villa Nursing Home, suffering from Alzheimer’s. She had a special Indian doll she held on her lap as a baby all the time. It was made of china, and she dropped it on the floor and broke it. We were frantic, trying to find a doll to replace it.
“In visiting with Sarah, my daughter, Teresa, told her what had happened, and Sarah said, ‘Let me see what I can do’.
“A short time later, Sarah and her daughter, Fieona, returned to Tony and Peggy Catanzaro’s house (where we were at) with a Maddame Alexander doll. Peggy provided the Indian blanket, which Sarah made a dress and headband (Thanks to Peggy, too).
“Sarah, Fieona, and Teresa then took the doll to Dorothy at the nursing home. She was so happy, and holds it on her lap all the time. Thank you, girls! A big thanks to Fieona for sharing her doll.”
Vevay Newspapers says “Good for You”, Sarah and Fieona Thompson. For being caring residents of Switzerland County, you will be receiving a $5 regular footlong sandwich compliments of Subway Restaurant in Vevay.
