Golf team continues strong campaign


The Switzerland County varsity golf team has been busy during the past weeks.

– On May 4th, Switzerland County finished third in a three-way match with Southwestern and South Ripley at Pine Hills.

Southwestern finished with a score of 164; followed by South Ripley with 174; and Switzerland County with 179.

Alec McAlpine led the way for the Pacers with a 42; followed by Jeff Mullins with a 43. Walter Barnes had a 45; and Zack Daugherty fired a 49.

– On May 6th the Pacers finished third in a three-way match with Southwestern and Milan at Vineyard.

Southwestern won the match with a team score of 162, followed by Milan with 167 and Switzerland County with 187.

Individually for the Pacers, Walter Barnes fired a 42; followed by Alec McAlpine with a 43. Jeff Mullins fired a 48; and Zack Daugherty had a 54.

– On May 10th the Pacers returned to Vineyard for a three-way match with South Ripley and Oldenburg Academy, and this time Switzerland County was victorious.

The Pacers had a team score of 172 to slide past South Ripley and Oldenburg, which each had 174.

Walter Barnes again led the way with a 40; followed by Tanner Ross with a 42; Jeff Mullins with a 43; Keegan Kincaid and Zack Daugherty with 47s; Alec McAlpine with a 49; and Alex Curran had a 50.
