The Rising Sun girl’s track team placed fourth in the Ohio River Valley Conference Track Meet on Tuesday, May 9th, at Switzerland County High School in Vevay.
Coach Jason Barth reported individual personal and season best times and distances. Team Scores were: Switzerland County 152, South Ripley 69, JCD 59, Rising Sun 58, Southwestern 48, Milan 43 and Shawe 34.
The girl’s 4×100 relay team earned all-conference honors as they finished first. The team included Kinsey Price, Emma Levi, Kasey Baker, and Riley Chipman with a time of 55.3.
Kasey Baker finished second in the 3200 in 13:06.6 behind South Ripley’s Megan Cole (12:03.3).
Levi finished second in the long jump (14’10”) and third in the 200 (28.8).
Price finished fourth in the 400 (1:07.9) and was sixth in the 100 (14.4).
Chipman finished third in the shot put (30′.5″) and discus (92’7″).
Abby Wallace was seventh in the shot put (27’7″) and discus (78’7.5″).
The 4×400 relay finished in sixth place (Allee Howlett, Carly Siekman, Aroa Benetiz-Santana, Federica Micocci) at 5:43.9.
The 4×800 consisting of Levi, Baker, Miranda Hall and Katelyn Welzel with a time of 11:06.7
The Girl’s Track team competed at the Franklin County Sectional on Tuesday, May 16th, but results were not available at press time.
