Geyman auction is this Saturday

An auction of personal items owned by former Switzerland County School Corporation treasurer Ann Geyman will be held this Saturday, February 9th.

The auction will be held at the National Guard Armory in Madison, and will begin at 10 a.m.

The Switzerland County School Corporation said that the proceeds from the auction will go to help settle the debt owed by Ann Geyman to the school corporation.

She has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $1 million from the school corporation.

As part of her plea agreement involving the embezzlement, Ann Geyman agreed to turn over personal property to the school corporation.

Those items are to be auctioned off, with the proceeds going against the amount of money that she must repay to the school.

Superintendent Darin Gullion announced that the school corporation has contracted with auctioneer Bob Owings to hold the auction; and school attorney Ron Hocker noted that all of the expenses involved in the sale will come out of the proceeds of the sale, with the next proceeds being applied to the debt that Ann Geyman owes.
