Freshman team falls in tourney semifinals

The outstanding season of the Switzerland County freshman boys basketball team came to an abrupt end on Monday night when the Pacers fell to South Ripley in the semifinal round of the ORVC Freshman Tournament.

South Ripley defeated the Pacers by a score of 40-13.

“The season did not end the way we wanted it to, but I’m very proud of the guys and the season that they had,” Coach Sean McGarvey said.

Damon Robbins led the Pacers with four points; while Adam Clark finished with three points and five rebounds. Allen Chase had two points, three blocks, and four rebounds in the game; and Blake Whitham had two points, two assists, and three rebounds.

Zach O’Neal had two points; Tim McAlister had two steals; and Zack Daugherty had a rebound.

The freshman team ended the season with an overall record of 9-5.
