Freshman boys pick up first win


The Switzerland County freshman boys basketball team opened its season with a victory on Monday night with a 51-33 win over South Dearborn.

Calen Otter led the Pacers with 11 points, and also added four rebounds and two steals.

Anthony Dasis had nine points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal; while Anthony Dennis had seven points, two assists, a rebound and a steal. Nathan Smith also had seven points to go with five steals, three rebounds, and an assist.

Josh Yeary had six points, two assists, and two rebounds; Brady Scudder added six points and two rebounds; Steven Craig had three points, two rebounds, and an assist; and Quinn Meyer had two points, three rebounds, and one steal.

Tony Hernandez added three rebounds; and Fred Wilson also had a rebound.

“I thought we came out with a lot of intensity at the beginning of the game and carried it throughout,” Coach Sean McGarvey said. “It was a very good way to start the season.”

The Pacers return to action this Monday, December 1st, when they travel to Milan. The game gets underway at 6 p.m.
