The freshman boys basketball team ran its record to 8-3 overall on Monday night with a 44-25 victory over Rising Sun.
“We turned up the pressure in the second half with our press and that allowed us some easy baskets,” coach Sean McGarvey said. “I was very proud of our defense, with everyone on the team getting at least one steal during the game.”
Nathan Smith and Calen Otter led the Pacer attack, each finishing with 11 points. Nathan Smith also added four rebounds, four steals, and two assists; while Calen Otter contributed two rebounds and two steals to the win.
Steven Craig was also in double figures, finishing with 10 points and three rebounds; and Anthony Dennis had five points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Anthony Dasis had four points, four steals, and three rebounds; Josh Yeary had two points and two assists; and Brady Scudder had one point and four rebounds.
Fred Wilson contributed a rebound and a steal in the victory.

On Tuesday night, the Pacers pushed their overall record to 9-3 with a 44-25 victory over Jac-Cen-Del.
Josh Yeary led Switzerland County with 11 points; while Nathan Smith added 10 points and three rebounds.
Calen Otter had nine points and five rebounds; Anthony Dasis had five points and three rebounds; and Anthony Dennis contributed five points and two rebounds.
Brady Scudder had four points, three rebounds, and three steals to help seal the win.
