Freshman boys capture ORVC title


The Switzerland County freshman boys basketball team captured the championship of the Ohio River Valley Conference Freshman Tournament on Monday night with a 45-39 win over Milan.

“We hit freethrows down the stretch to get the win,” Coach Sean McGarvey said. “I want to congratulate the team on a great season.”

Anthony Dasis led the way for the Pacers in the title tilt, scoring 11 points and also contributing two rebounds and three steals.

Calen Otter added eight points and two assists; Nathan Smith had seven points and three rebounds; and Anthony Dennis contributed seven points and three steals.

Brady Scudder had seven points and four rebounds in the victory; and Quinn Meyer chipped in an assist.

The freshman conclude their season with an overall record of 11-4.
