Switzerland County athletes will again have the opportunity to receive a free sports physical through the Switzerland County Medical Building.
Dr. Scott Frede and Dr. Marc Willage will provide free sports physicals for junior high and high school athletes attending Switzerland County schools on Wednesday, July 30th. The physicals will be performed from noon until 3 p.m. that day; and will be done at the Switzerland County Medical Building on State Road 56 on the west side of Vevay.
Students wanting to take advantage of this free service may pick up an IHSAA form at the high school office. The student’s medical history form must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian prior to the screening.
Students with pre-existing chronic health conditions such as asthma or heart-related issues should make an appointment with their personal physician, as they are not appropriate for this screening.
Parents with questions may contact Dr. Frede’s office at 427-9564; or Dr. Willage’s office at 427-2911; or the high school at 427-2626.
It is mandatory that all students participating in junior high or high school athletic programs in Indiana – including cheerleading – have a current physical on file with the school before they are allowed to practice or participate.
