A foursome of Rising Sun juveniles have had charges submitted with the juvenile court in relation to the vandalism, burning of shrubbery and theft that had occurred overnight on June 29th at Shiner Park in Rising Sun.

Two 15-year-old boys are being charged with the Theft, Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Criminal Trespass and Arson according to David Hewitt, Rising Sun Chief of Police.

The other two boys, ages 15 and 16, will be charged with criminal trespass as a result of their actions on the night in question.

The names of the individuals involved will not be released due to them being juveniles. The investigation is still ongoing and police are still hoping to locate some of the items alleged to have been stolen. Police want to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation as well as the parents of the juveniles involved in the incident for their cooperation.

Police say that communication between several juveniles via text messages along with blood evidence at the scene assisted in the investigation.

Rising Sun Police L. Brian Browning with the assistance of Detective Rodney Rimstidt have worked many hours on the case. “This is a perfect example of law enforcement and the public working together to bring a case to closure,” said Hewitt.

Hewitt added that the school’s new camera system was a big aid in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Brian Browning of the Rising Sun Police Department.
