Florence News 9-8-16

Juanita Keith and Betty Porter, I don’t know her married name, stayed at the Fairway Inn last weekend when they came in for the Vevay High School Alumni. Saturday night they had a good dinner at Jewell’s in Warsaw, and later had a good visit with Linda Jones and Patty Chase at Fairway. They are both from the Indianapolis area and said they had a wonderful time.

Betty Hargrove, Linda Jones, PJ Jones, and Annie and the girls had lunch at Jewell’s one day.

Patty Chase has been having therapy on her back and hip at Swiss Villa hoping she won’t need surgery. That is a wonderful group helping her at Swiss Villa. Patty sees Margaret Turner every day she goes in. Margaret seems to be doing better. Prayers for her.

The Florence Church of Christ will have a 9-11 Remembrance Service on Sunday afternoon, September 11th, at 2 p.m. All are invited. Refreshments to follow.

Sympathy to the family of Mary Alice Gaudin. She is my cousin. We went to the visitation and met her family that I had not met. We had met Bernie, of course. Jean Adkins and Tommy and Tracy were also cousins, so we had a nice visit with them. Mary Alice was a lovely lady and will be missed.

Sympathy to the family of Charlotte Purnell Walker. The Center Square Baptist Church had a nice dinner for the family and friends after the funeral service.

Some of the people at the Florence Church of Christ have been commenting on how nice the property across from the church by the fire department looks. Thanks to whoever is keeping it so nice.
