We all enjoyed the Swiss Wine Festival and the Vevay High School Alumni again. We got to visit with a lot of old friends that came in. Bill and Mary Roberts and Lona Mathews came in from Florida and attended then alumni for the class of 1954. Many others came in from far away. Juanita Keith and Betty (forgot her last name but I think her maiden name was Porter) came to the alumni and stayed at the Fairway Inn. We had a nice visit.
Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Keith and Janice Brown, Kay O’Neal, and Cheryl Messmore. Randy Brown is doing well after his surgery.
Sympathy to the families of Lucille Konkle, Robert “Doc” LeClerc, JoAnn Rider White and others I missed.
A September 11th, 2001 Remembrance Service will be held on Tuesday, September 11th at 7 p.m. at the Florence Church of Christ, and all are welcome.
Evelyn Leath of Greenfield called Glenda Sullivan to check on all of her friends in Vevay area Monday. She isn’t in the best of health, but keeps on going like the rest of us. Hi to Evelyn and her sister Edith. They were Mitchells.
Eleven classmates of 1957 enjoyed the Vevay Alumni on Saturday. They were: Thelma Seel, Peggy Furnish, Linda Robbins, Lois Fothergill, Nell Cayton, Raymond Slack, Lloyd Christman, Joy Dean Lee, Keith Dixon, Hazel Wilkerson and Glenda Sullivan.
Betty Hargrove and Linda Jones spent Tuesday at Florence Mall. Linda Jones, PJ Jones and Annie and the kids visited with Bud and Betty Hargrove. Bud’s 90th birthday was September 14th. Happy Birthday, Bud.
Happy 101st birthday on September 4th to Stella Bennett. We had a nice visit with Stella as she was having lunch at Mo’s with Peachy and her husband.
