Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase went to the visitation and funeral for Loretta Westrick on Thursday and Friday at Carrollton. Loretta worked at the Vevay Shoe Factory for over 40 years. Her boys were there from Texas and Louisville. It was a nice service and we all had good visits. Sympathy to the family.
The Florence Church of Christ had its annual picnic Saturday evening. It got rained out so it was moved inside the building. A really big crowd enjoyed the evening.
Jodie Winslow and her daughter of Rising Sun went to Williamstown, Kentucky to visit The Ark and were very impressed by it. They had a wonderful time and are really enjoying telling about it.
Saturday afternoon Sylvia Byars gave a nice 70th birthday party for Ken Byars at the Jack Sullivan building. Many friends and family enjoyed the day.
Sunday Bonnie and Roy Duckworth, Glenda Sullivan, Karen and Gary Wentworth, David Wentworth, Charles and Alberta Pickett, Patty Chase, Ken and Sylvia Byars, Don Smith, Mike Johnson, Judy Lozier, Tiffany Rininger, Casey and Sheila Rininger, Nancy Johnson, Sylvia’s daughter and son in law, Mike and Rachel Graham from Alaska all met at the Pines at noon to celebrate Judy Lozier’s and Ken Byars’s birthdays. Ken says a good time was had by all.
Margaret Lee Weidmann enjoyed a phone call from her nephew Ronnie Ackerman of Cincinnati. Her company was Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Kathleen Bolton, and Kay O’Neal. Randy is getting better but could still use some prayers after his surgery a few weeks ago.
Denny Bowman visited Patty Chase on his way home form a golf game Sunday. Monday his granddaughter Libby Heffelfinger will have more surgery on her hand. Get well prayers for her.

Last Sunday afternoon Roy and Bonnie Duckworth attended a celebration at the Mt. Olive Church of Christ, New Vienna, Ohio for Russell Lieb’s 60th anniversary in the ministry. Brother Lieb is Roy’s home church minister. He baptized Roy and ordained him in to the ministry. He also married Roy and Bonnie. They got to visit with several old friends and had a wonderful reunion.
Last Friday evening and Saturday, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth and Alberta Pickett enjoyed the Family Camp at Whitewater Campground near Lake Geneva.
Saturday evening Devin and Clayton Seal visited Tracy Seal at the Waters of Clifty in Madison with pizza. Sunday afternoon Glenda Sullivan visited Tracy and took her a chocolate milk shake. Tracy’s parents, Janet and Richard Sullivan were on their way with her Sunday supper. She had a big smile for her family thinking of her.
Malcolm Markland was surprised for his birthday at the Kroger store on Mall Road last week. Attending was Pam Acton (pay backs are fun), Mick and Cathy Markland, Larry Dale Pruitt, Denny and Mary Lou Bowman, Roger and Jean Woodfill, Mike and Anita Danner, Mark and Suzi Deacon, Bill and Rose Leap, Teresa Lyons, Max and Peg Dickson, Jim and Carol Strausbaugh and several Kroger employees. Mark Morton played the bag pipe as Mal’s boss escorted him to the room where everyone was waiting. It was a big surprise. They had cake in the form of cup cakes shaped like golf balls. Pam said he will probably take this article to work with him. Happy birthday Malcolm.
