Vevay was the place to be on the weekend. I have never seen that much traffic. The Wine Festival was really good. We watched the parade, it was great. All the helpers with that deserve a big thank you. After the parade we went tot the Vevay High School Alumni at the Switzerland County High School. It was in the gym again since there was a really nice crowd. It was a good weekend. I hope to have more weekend news next week, it’s been busy.
Peggy Sullivan and her little girl, Laura, who she babysits with from Austin; Brenda Peelman, Jacob and Jacey and Glenda Sullivan visited Patty Chase on their way to the festival Friday evening.
Alberta Pickett, Glenda Sullivan, Patty Chase, Barbara Keith, Becky Purnell and family, Sherry Johnson, Kenny and Pam Johnson, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth and many others shared what we call “Bowman’s Corner” to enjoy the parade. Dale and Daniel Thompson, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth attended the church service at Mt. Byrd Christian Church in Milton Kentucky on Friday night.
LeAnn and LoriAnn Lozier and friend Jose attended the Swiss Wine Festival Friday night. The girls spent the night with their mom Judy Lozier and the three of them went to the festival Saturday evening where they enjoyed visited with their old friends.
The Vevay High School Class of 1954 was well represented at the alumni Saturday. Jerry McKenzie, Jim and Johanna Welch, Newell Fox and Virginia and Bill Roberts and Mary, Patty Chase, Martha Ann Sloan, Lona Mathews, Arlene Facemire. We missed the ones that couldn’t get there.
The Vevay High School Class of 1957 had its annual lunch Sunday at the The Pines in Madison. Good food and fellowship attending were: Don and Carolyn Truesdell, Lloyd and Deanna Christman, Tom and Janice Smith, Nell Cayton, Jerry and Donna Raisor, Lois Fothergill, Raymond Slack, Jim Leap, Gene and Linda Robbins, Paul Reed, Keith and Pat Dixon, Peggy Furnish, Hazel Wilkerson, Joy Dean Lee, and Glenda Sullivan.
Richard and Leona Adams have had a lot of company. John and Bonnie Stutzman from Leavenworth and Hugh and Vickie Meyer from Texas.
Patty Chase and 125 other friends and family enjoyed the lovely birthday party for Mavis Uhlmansiek at the Rising Sun Senior Community Building. It was a wonderful meeting with good food and cake. Happy Birthday, Mavis!
Cheryl Messmore is visiting with Mom and family and friends. Margaret Lee’s other company was Kay O’Neal, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Betty Hargrove, Jim and Carol Strausbaugh, Ronnie and Lois Ackerman, Judy Kay and Cabel McKee and the doberman, ‘Ziva’, and Penny and Bob Russell from Cincinnati. Margaret Lee wants to thank Twyla for her nice phone call from Tennessee. Twyla said she gets the Vevay paper and goes right to the column where she can find news of Margaret Lee and all the family. Hi Twyla form Patty. Linda Harrell and Joyce Atwood also visited Margaret Lee.
