Greetings From Florence, Indiana. Our next town meeting will be August 31st at 6:30 p.m. at the Florence Church to continue planning the celebration for the 200th year for Florence on October 14th.

Thanks to Butch Konkle for his walk at the 56 Campground for the Jeannie and Butch Konkle cancer fund and the Switzerland County Keeping Pace cancer fund. We are glad we got be a part of that and hope to be at the next one. It was a really nice place to walk and enjoy visiting friends. Butch done the walk in tribute to Jeannie. She was a lovely lady and a good friends. Thanks also to the Switzerland County Lions Club and many others that donated their time and food.

We will have t-shirts for the Florence celebration for $10 up to size 2x then the cost will be $12. Call Leona Adams to order at (812) 594-9141.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was: Kay O’Neal, Jason Messmore, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown. Mom said Randy is doing very well after his surgery a few weeks ago. He said thanks to everyone for their prayers and get well wishes.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth had a nice visit with Clara Belle Crandell and Glenn Crandell while shopping. Clara Belle will be celebrating her 95th birthday. She is such a lovely lady and a good friend. Happy Birthday Clara Belle. Joe Johnson’s brother Ed also celebrated his birthday; and also Olive Weaver – both in the 90’s.

Steve and Margie Randolph and Ronda Norfleet spent a wonderful vacation at French Lick and Patoka Lake. They stayed at the West Baden Hotel then camped at Patoka Lake.

Patty Chase had a nice visit by phone with Loretta Westrick. She is doing well and her boys visit her often. Patty also had a nice call from Ed Trinkle form Virginia. He always ask about his Switzerland County friends and said “hello.”

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase were in Milan on business and had a good visit with Vernon and Janice Peters at the same business place and visited with Kevin Smith there, too. Glenda and Patty went on to the Reservation for a really good lunch, then visited Denny and Mary Lou Bowman and had some good angel food cake. Monday and Tuesday, Glenda and Patty met Robin Lawson of Patriot and Julie Brown of Madison at Belterra Stadium for a good supper and visit. Robin and Julie Helped with the Swiss Villa therapy for Glenda and Patty last year at different times.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth and other family visited with Verle Truitt during the week.

LeeAnn, Emily and Kelsey Bush visited Patty Chase on Saturday.

Get well to Gladys Hunt in Dearborn County Hospital.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Charles and Alberta Pickett, Ken and Sylvia Byars, Gary and Karen Wentworth, Judy Lozier, Nancy Johnson, Glenda Sullivan, Patty Chase, David Wentworth, Justin, Timmy and Phillip Lane. It was Justin’s birthday.

Charles and Alberta Pickett, Glenda Sullivan, Patty Chase, Bonnie Duckworth, Karen Wentworth, Kiersten McClure and Dale and Danilee Thompson had a breakfast in Vevay on Saturday.

Watch for the Florence Float in the Wine Festival Parade with the invitation to the October 14th celebration.

Hope to see you at the Vevay High School Alumni meeting Saturday afternoon after the parade.

We plan to have a cake contest at the Florence Celebration I need my ladies that want to help to be at the August 31st meeting.
