The town of Florence meeting to plan the 200th birthday met again at the Church of Christ meeting room last Thursday. About 10 interested people showed up to set a date and toss around more ideas. The date is set for October 14th in the afternoon to evening.
The next meeting will be Tuesday July 25th at the church at 6:30. Please attend with your ideas and discuss what you would like to help with. Several people have let me know they want to be involved. We did discuss putting signs in the yards with names of the families that used to live there. My house would have the name of Shirley Biddle Gregory and Lawrence Kelly family and Marsh family. Let us know who you remember.
Last week when Dave Westrick was in from Dallas to visit his mom Loretta, Steve and Jon. Patty Chase, Glenda Sullivan and Charmain Lucas also visited them and the boys took them out for a delicious lunch at Down On Main in Carrollton. It is a great place to eat, Thanks. Happy birthday to Steve on July 20th.
Maxine Wilco from Illinois and Loren Scott from Utah spent Friday and Saturday night with Carolyn Lowe. They were in for the Scott Reunion at Rising Sun. Francis Pike, Shirley Neal and Barbara Bowling also went tot the reunion. Shirley spent the weekend with her mom Frances Pike.
The Center Square Baptist Church and a really good Lasagna dinner at the 4-H fair community building Tuesday. They also took about 30 dinners to the residents of Switzer Square. They all really enjoyed them and said thanks to church members that they also got to visit with.
Bonnie Crummin my Mary Kay director from Terra Haute and Judy Felts from Shoales, Indiana drove Bonnie’s pink cadillac to Vevay Shell’s Saturday to meet with Patty Chase and Lake Rayls for a Mary Kay meeting. Lou Wadsworth could not attend this time but will get the information. The pink cadillac was really neat. We had a picture taken with it.
Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Kay O’Neal, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Jason Messmore, Wayne Browning, Jamiel Thomas and sons Chase, Carter and Nolan from Cleveland, Bobby and Diane Brown from Illinois. Jamiel Thomas and boy swill be spending the week with Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown.
