I have been getting some good results from Florence people wanting to help with the Florence Birthday Party. We will have the second meeting tonight (Thursday, July 13th) at 6:30 p.m. at the Florence Church of Christ meeting too. Come and share your stories or pictures of long ago. We plan to set the date for it at the is meeting. Please spread the word. We need your ideas.

Randy, Lorraine, Ryan Brown and Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company last week was: Kay O’Neal, Molli Funk, Jesse Jones, Jason Messmore, Shane Hamblin and friend Ryan and sons, Simon, Sebastian and Senan. Cheryl Messmore spent a few days and has returned home.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase visited with Dave Westrick, Steve Westrick, Jon Haag and Charmain Lucas while Dave was in from Texas to visit his mom Loretta and family last week.

We all enjoyed the Warsaw fireworks Monday. The Indiana side of the river was lined with cars and people. Our bunch took hot dogs, chips, drinks, watermelon, and the sweet stuff for a little picnic while waiting and visiting. It was really fun. Thank you Warsaw for a delightful evening. Tuesday we watched the Belterra display. They were really good and pretty. Again the roads were lined with people visiting and waiting for the fire works to start. Thank You Belterra.

The Florence Church group had a good dinner at Ponderosa Sunday to celebrate Gary Wentworth’s birthday with lots of pretty and funny cards.

Glenda Sullivan visited Tracy Seale at the Waters of Clifty Falls at Madison on Wednesday. Tracy said Sondra Hyde had just left and Tracy’s mom Janet Sullivan was there on Tuesday. Tracy’s birthday was July 12th and her husband Clayton’s will get a year older on Friday the 14th. Happy birthday to both of them.

Happy birthday also to Johnny Dale Lock, Mary Lou Bowman, Gary Wentworth, Emily Bush and some I missed.

Patty Chase visited one of her favorite doctors in Madison. Dr. Ronald Auer gave her a good report. She just needs to keep walking and exercising. The staff there is really good and friendly.

Betty Hargrove visited Jerry Jewell at Rising Sun. Davey Leap brought Betty some vegetables and Myra Jo and Larry Spoores brought her some puzzles and books.

Gladys Hunt fell and had to have hip surgery. Leona Adams said she came through the surgery okay. Prayers for Gladys and also for Pat Slack, Frank Adams, Jim McSwain, Bev Stoops, Inez Harker’s son, Verle and Genevieve Truitt, Richard Adams, Larry Turner, Glenda Fritter, Kris Colen and others.

Richard and Leona Adams enjoyed the Patriot Parade. Richard is recovering from eye surgery and other issues.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth visited her dad Verle Truitt at Dearborn County Hospital. He has spent a few days in ICU and is doing a little better.

Charles and Alberta Pickett, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Denny and Mary Lou Bowman, Debbie Gregory and Patty Chase enjoyed the Belterra Fireworks from Patty’s back yard. A really good location. Bev Stoops visited also as she and some friends packed there too.

Reta Gray said this week has been busy for the kids in 4-H and parents taking them to meetings and preparing their animals and their things for the community building. Hope they all do good with all their projects. So everyone try to help support these kids. They have some amazing projects in the community building. April (Gray) Konkle and family went back to their home in Lafayette last week.

Reta Gray spent Sunday afternoon with granddaughter Joei Gray in East Enterprise. McKaylen was the only great granddaughter home. The other two, Kristina and Kyla were visiting with family members. Joei and Reta spent most of the afternoon fighting the wasp that had a big nest on the porch and under chairs.

Reta is wondering what has happened to our phone system? Everyone she tries to call it comes on “how do I direct your call” then you start getting recordings that stay punch 1 for…etc. or hang on and punch operator. It upsets Reta because to make an ordinary call, she could drive there before I can get the person or business. “The only place I call that I get a person is MainSource Bank in Vevay,” Reta says. “I always get a nice person there.”
