Florence News 6-8-17

It was a busy weekend. Congratulations to the Seniors and best wishes.

We attended the lovely graduation party for Paige Works. Her grandmother “Inky” was the hairdresser in Florence for a long time and I think Paige is going to do that too. Good choice, Paige. It was a nice party and just one of many this weekend.

Happy birthday to Bob Springer. He is 90 years old and to Don Smith who will be 99 years old on June 20th. Also to Denny Bowman.

I am getting some feed back about the town of Florence being 200 years old this year. We hope to have a celebration. Let me know if you have a good story or picture and if you would like to help and be a part of the party. We haven’t set a date yet. Beverly Chase Davis, Andrea Brogan Ogden, Mark Scott, Carolyn Scott Lowe and Roy Duckworth are helping.

Danilee Thompson, Charles and Alberta, Patty Chase, Glenda Sullivan, Justin and Tammy Lane and baby Phil enjoyed ice cream at Shell’s one evening.

Dale Thompson may get to come home from the nursing home in Columbus this week.

Bonnie Duckworth’s mom, Genevieve Truitt, spent a few days in the hospital at Cincinnati and is now back at Ross Manor in Dillsboro. Verle Truitt (Bonnie’s dad) is also back home after a hospital stay. Both are doing well. Get well prayers for them.

It was nice to see Beverly Davis visiting in the area Sunday.

Nice to see Ruth Beatty back to work part time at Fairway Inn. She is also helping her husband paint and she cleans houses.

Gerald Bear visited Ed and Debbie Gregory Sunday.

Bonnie and Roy Duckworth attended granddaughter Dorothy Duckworth’s graduation and her party a few days later. Congratulations Dorothy.

Clayton and Devon Seale brought Tracy Seale from the Waters of Clifty at Madison to their home in North Vernon to spend the day and have a cook out on Memorial Day. Tracy’s other company at Madison was Richard and Janet Sullivan, Sondra Hyde, Cindy Geis and Glenda Sullivan.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Randy Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Helena Hayes, Kay O’Neal, Ronnie and Lois Ackerman, Jerilyn and Earl Van Winkle, and Jason Messmore.

Carolyn Lowe and Carla Harsin went to the graduation party for Mallory Phagan on Sunday.

Sympathy to the families of Josh Snow, Charles Tingle Sr. and Lorrie Sullivan. Lorrie was a good friend and relative. She was a lovely person and will be missed.
