Congratulations to Rita Sullivan for getting the Golden Hoosier Award.

Faye Lewis, Tim, Annette, Abby, Parker, Lexie Deno had lunch at Ron and Jean Sandidge’s last Saturday. Faye’s company last week was Mike and Joann Sawalich, David, Olivia, Mia and Mallory Sandidge, Alice Faye Whitham, Gertrude Voris, Jean Sandidge, Evelyn Smith and Glenda Sullivan.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase met Denny and Mary Lou Bowman at Roxano’s Friday to celebrate Denny’s birthday with a big pizza. Happy birthday Denny and to grandson Luke Bowman at Batesville.

Saturday Glenda and Patty went to Columbus to visit Glenda’s niece Tracy Seale. She is recovering slowly and will have therapy there for a while. She had spent several weeks in Indianapolis so she is getting closer to home in North Vernon. On their way home they stopped at a really good restaurant in North Vernon that Richard and Janet Sullivan told them about called the “Grateful Grub.” It’s at 325 S. Madison Avenue and really worth trying. It used to be a golf course, just a block or so off Highway 50.

Janet Middleton said the Randall Company reunion will be at Ogle Park July 11th. I’ll have more information about this later. See Janet, Kay O’Neal, Betty Burnham Drew or Barry Valentine.

We had a nice visit with Jim McSwain as he stayed at the Fairway Inn to go to the Patriot Alumni. He brought greetings from Russell and Vera McSwain and said they are doing well. Jim said he really enjoyed the Alumni and had an eventful weekend.

Lura Mae Smith and daughter Lynn visited Janet Brown and Linda before going to the Patriot Alumni.

Joan Carrigan and daughter Penny visited Mike James and family before going to the Patriot Alumni. Juanita Brown also went to the Alumni. Joan and Penny also had dinner with Richard and Leona Adams Sunday and had a nice afternoon visiting and remembering good times.

The Adams family reunion was at Markland Dam Park with 29 attending. Ginny Ann was able to be there.

Richard and Leona Adams had Rick and Shelly Adams as house guests for five days. They are from Nebraska. Dad and son got a lot of golf time in.

Leona said Willowdean Niccum was the oldest one at the Patriot Alumni.

Nanny Debbie Wilhoite, Papa Darrin White, Aunt Holly and Uncle Marshall Kindall, Devin Smith, D.J. Wilhoite and Riley Smith went to the Cincinnati Zoo Sunday to celebrate Riley’s kindergarten graduation. They had a wonderful time. On Monday they had food and cake at Debbie’s house for Riley and his cousin Piper Simkins’ graduation party.

Ronnie and Lois Ackerman visited Margaret Lee Weidmann on their way back from Gray, Tennessee, where they attended the graduation of McKenzie and McKennon Trujillo. Cheryl Messmore visited Mom for Memorial weekend. Randy Brown and Cheryl attended the Memorial Day service at the Hoosier Theater and went to the American Legion dinner. Margaret Lee and Cheryl had supper Sunday with Randy and Lorraine Brown and Floyd Wiltz. Margaret Lee’s company was Kay O’Neal, Diana Brown and Audrey Marsh.

Paul and Sondra Furnish and Linda Furnish spent last week with Gordon and Ladona Scudder at Plant City, Florida. They swam in the ocean, visited the aquarium and Bok Tower and enjoyed the food at Crabby Bills. They had a wonderful time and lots of good food.

Our get well and prayer concerns include Juanita Baer, Rachel Gurley, Tonya Moore, Tracy Seale, Dale Thompson, Linda Mae Jones, Jeanie Konkle, Mike McCarty, Mary Katherine Dickerson, Joe Johnson, Willie Leach-Judy Lozier’s brother, Wanda Benzing, Anita Stutzman, Keith Black, and others.

Sympathy to the Lucy Beatty family. Lucy was a lovely lady and she will be missed.

Lois Brooks sent some news. She said to add Eugene Rucker and James Brooks to my prayer list. Eugene is critical and is at Hospice in Columbus, Indiana. James has been in the hospital at Silver Oaks Health Care Center in Columbus since April 17th. Please keep them in your prayers.
