This Saturday is the Relay for Life at Ogle Park from 10:30 a.m. check-in time to 11 p.m. ending after the Luminary service. Survivors will have an 11:30 a.m. lunch at the park. If you haven’t called in your reservation please call Ruth Lohide at 812-534-3002 now. The Florence and Friends team will have homemade ice cream. Other teams will have other goodies. Hope to se you there for a good day. Opening ceremony will be at 11 a.m. East Enterprise Fire Department will have a fish fry in the early evening. Some poker run riders will be there for that. Everyone is welcome.

The electric power was off in Vevay for several hours. It was hard on the IGA store again. Hope he can recover again. It’s a good store.

Happy birthday to Eddie Gregory, Mary Lou Bowman, Peggy Stoll, Karen Wentworth, Randy Brown and all.

The Koons family enjoyed lunch at the Florence Church of Christ Saturday. Attending were Harry Ray and Betty Koons from Texas, Richard and Brenda Koons, Bob and Mary Florence Koons, Randall and Nancy Koons, Howard and Roberta Young, Renny Koons, David Hunt, Dennis Hunt, and Gladys and Brunei Hunt. They had a delicious lunch and shared stories and many good memories made right there at that church. They are planning another get together August 8th in Patriot. They left a really clean kitchen and dining room at the church and a very generous donation.

Ronnie Ackerman visited Margaret Lee Weidmann last weekend and had supper at Mo’s Saturday evening. Kay O’Neal, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Tootie Stevens, Rita Waltz, Kevin Scudder and Shawn Messmore also visited Margaret Lee.

Randy Brown had a nice 65th birthday and Father’s Day.

Lorraine Brown and Margaret Lee enjoyed supper at Sunset Grill Friday evening.

The Florence Church bunch celebrated Karen Wentworth’s birthday Sunday at Sunset Grill.

Faye Lewis’ company was Gertrude Voris, Robin Lawson, Carolyn Hysell, Ron and Jean Sandidge, Evelyn Smith and Glenda Sullivan. Sunday Faye had lunch with Ron and Jean Sandidge. Also, Annette, Tim, Abby, Parker and Lexie Deno as they were visiting for Father’s Day weekend.

Margie Whitham, Squeak and Jeanette Knaus, Teryn Hinman, Cindy Geis, Dana Einhaus, Richard and Janet Sullivan and Clayton and Devin Seale all visited with Tracy Seale during last week. Tracy has been moved from Columbus Hospital to North Vernon for more rehab. Get well prayers for you, Tracey.

Evelyn Mitchell Leath called Glenda Sullivan to say their sister, Edith Sexton, fell and maybe broke a bone in the hip area. She is in rehab in Middletown, Ohio. Get well prayers for Edith.

Darrell and Peggy Stoll spent the weekend with Bud and Betty Hargrove. Betty took them to Belterra for supper to celebrate Peggy’s birthday. Davy and Patty Leap were also there celebrating their anniversary.

Don’t forget the Poker Run for the Timmy Harmon, Jr., memorial fund will be Saturday, June 27th. It starts at Striker’s Bowling Alley. Register from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and ends at the bowling alley at 5 p.m. for an auction. Hope we see you there.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase had a nice visit with Cliff and Joy Higgans from Warsaw as they were visiting in Vevay one day. Patty had a nice visit with Jane Osborne in Vevay last week and her pretty little dog “Pumpkin.”

Get well prayers for Joe Johnson, Jean Konkle, Tonya Moore, Dale Thompson, Tracy Seale, Linda Jewell Jones, Kevin Kelly and all I missed.

Ken and Sylvia Byars’ neighbor Donald Smith came to church with them Sunday to celebrate his 97th birthday.

Dr. and Mrs. Cabell McKee and Bindi were in for a few days to help Martha celebrate her 80th birthday.

Judy and Martha McKee spent Thursday, June 11th, in Madison and had lunch with Kai and Rick Kempker.

Judy McKee spent Friday evening, June 12th, in Madison visiting with Larry and Joyce Park, Kai and Rick Kempker, Tiffany and Monte Sever and family, and Ryan and Marci Park and family.

Martha McKee’s girls, Paula, Rocky and Sherry threw her a surprise 80th birthday party at the American Legion Saturday, June 13th. Dr. and Mrs. Cabell McKee and Bindi (the dog) were here from San Antonio, her niece Charlotte Shale of San Diego who flew in for her birthday, Jordan Houze and friend Shannon and children from Nashville, Indiana, Paula’s husband Phil, Cole McKenzie and wife Jennifer and children Kennedy and Hayden, all of Vevay, and Kaine McKenzie of Vevay. There were lots of other friends and family there but too many to name.

Martha’s girls gave her a flat screen T.V. and she got flowers and gifts and lots of hugs. Thanks to all who helped get the party together and especially her much-loved daughters. It was a great day.
