Good morning from Florence. It looks like another hot summer day.

The Florence Church of Christ bunch enjoyed lunch Sunday at 88 King Buffet at Madison. We celebrated Karen Wentworth and Don Smith’s birthdays. Don was 98 Monday. He lives on Hominy Ridge. It was a good day.

The American Cancer Society Relay will be Saturday June 25th. It will start at noon with the survivors lunch and the first lap at the Ogle Park. Come support your friends teams. Buy balloons for the balloon release at the end of the day. The balloons are $5.00 and take the place of the candles this year. Its a good way to remember your loved ones.

Get well to Pete Lowe. He has spent a few days in the Madison and Louisville hospitals. Also get well to Gary Lee Hambrick.

Happy birthday to Randy Brown. Cheryl Messmore, Bobby Brown and mom took him to Mo’s Saturday night of this birthday. Margaret Lee’s company was Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown and Rebecca and Kay O’Neal. Cheryl Messmore visited with mom and Bobby Brown. Bobby stayed from Thursday to Sunday and helped with yard work and chores.

I had a nice visit by phone with Frances Weaver. Always good to here from her.

Alberta Pickett collected money for the Relay For Life Florence Team in Enterprise Saturday. She did a good job by herself as the rest of the team couldn’t help at that time.

Patty Chase, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth went to the visitation for Evie Rassman. Evie was a dear friend and will be missed. Sympathy to the family.

Judy, LeAnn and Lori Lozier spent a few days on vacation in Florida last week.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase went to Milan on business then came back by way of Frisch’s where they had a nice visit with Buster and Joy Gregory and their daughter. They were asking about all their friends and family in Florence and said to say “hi” to them. Then we visited with Mary Florence Koons and she said “hi” to her friends in Florence. Then Dotie Turner Stewart joined them and had a good long visit. Then Patty’s brother in law, Gene Roberts came in with a friend so there was another visit and some hugs. They also spoke to Wayne and Sandy Ellegood and earlier with Kenny Clements. It was a good day.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chases visited Glenda’s niece, Tracy Seale at The Waters in Madison. Tracy is doing better. Glenda’s company was Donna Hughes, Patty Chase and Roy and Bonnie Duckworth.

Ken and Sylvia Byars just returned form California where they attended a graduation for a grandchild and also attended a funeral for Ken’s sister, Billy May at San Diego. Sympathy to the family.

Corinna Martin and Nadine Swift visited Patty Chase.

Steve Westrick came from Louisville to visit his mom, Loretta Westrick near Carrollton and took her for a doctor’s appointment Monday.
