Florence News 6-20-13

The Relay for Life was really good Friday night with perfect weather. The survivors dinner was good as usual by the Farm Bureau crew. Several teams took part at the Ogle Park and had a good time. Leona Adams sang the National Anthem for the opening ceremony and survivors walk. MainSource Bank took care of the auction that seemed to go real well. The Luminary program was at dark and again very emotional. I don’t know how much was collected but we are still getting donations in the mail and from people that missed it. We can take donations until the end of August to count on this year total. If you want to donate you can contact your favorite team or send it to me at P.O. Box 53, Florence, IN 47020 and I will get it to whatever team you want to support. The Florence and Friends team collected a big amount and is still getting mailings. We want to thank Pat Lanman for the wonderful write up about the Florence team. I am captain of that team and also want to thank them for a job well done. We have a great team that worked hard and I’ll try to have all of their names next week. All the other teams worked hard and our leaders from Columbus all deserve a pat on the back.
