The Switzerland County Red Hot Hatters will have a yard sale table at the gazebo parking lot near the Ladies Bazaar on Ferry Street Saturday, June 13th. Come and bring donations and buy. The proceeds go to the Toni Kniola Memorial Fund.

Brigetta Hetzel, Joyce Earls, Mary Christiani, June Lack and Kay Cook visited Juanita Detmer on their regular game day at Juanita’s home. They celebrated Juanita’s 94th birthday. Brigetta and Joyce brought a lunch of stir fry and a strawberry dessert – really good. Juanita’s grandson Allen Detmer and three daughters also visited to wish her a happy birthday.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Rick and Toni Allen, Sarah Regan, Melissa Duckworth, and John Duckworth all visited with Marcus and Tehya Duckworth in Independence, Kentucky Saturday to celebrate Dorothy Duckworth’s 16th birthday. They had a cookout and a really delicious chocolate cake made by Dorothy and a friend. Happy birthday, Dorothy.

Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan went to Versailles Sunday for the 90th birthday celebration for Jean O’Day Adkins. All of Jean’s seven children and their families as well as other relatives and her long time friends were there. They did a “This is your life” reading for Jean and their dad, the late Alfred Adkins, that was really good. It was such a happy day that even with a few sad moments everyone bounced right back to having a good time. Jean’s mother Juanita and my mother Josephine were sisters. I was so glad to be there and plan on being there and plan on being there for the 100th. Happy birthday, Jean.

Ryan Brown came home Thursday from Myrtle Beach where he has been working at the Legion golf course.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Kay O’Neal, Betty Hargrove, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Floyd Wiltz, and Melody and Tristan Reese.

Faye Lewis’ company was Robin Lawson, Mary Evelyn Pohlman, Gertrude Voris, Evelyn Smith, Jean Sandidge, and Glenda Sullivan.

Greg and Brittany Henderson Goins are proud parents of two beautiful little girls. One weighed 2 pounds, 3 ounces and the other one weighed 4 pounds, 3 ounces. They are still at Kosair’s Hospital and doing pretty good. They were about a month premature. Names are Allie and Annabelle according to grandma Corinne Martin.

Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan visited Loretta Westrick Thursday and had lunch. On the way home they visited Sue Westrick in Carrollton Saturday. Patty and Glenda went to Columbus hospital to visit Tracy Seale. Tracy is recovering slowly. Her preacher Steve and Judy Malone were also there. It was a good visit.

Dale Thompson is also in Columbus hospital but wasn’t up to company. Danilee came in to church Sunday and said he is a little better and wanting company. Danilee went to lunch with the church bunch before returning to North Vernon.

The next Relay for Life meeting will be June 16th at the Utility building in Vevay at 6 p.m. It will also be bank night.
