The East Enterprise Fire Department and the Florence station will have an indoor yard sale Saturday, May 9th, starting at 8 a.m. Volunteers are needed.

The New Liberty Baptist Church will have a yard sale starting at 9 a.m. May 9th.

The Florence and Friends American Cancer Society Relay team will have its pancake breakfast Saturday, May 16th, at the Florence Firehouse. Come for a good breakfast and support your friends from 8 a.m. to noon.

Patty Chase and Linda Smith of Switzerland County Tourism went to the beautiful home of Jay ad Wanda Benzing in Patriot for the Artisans Tour. Wanda’s brother and wife from Carrollton, Kentucky, Jodie Cole of Rising Sun Tourism and other guests were there for a good visit and delicious refreshments by Wanda. It was a good day. On the way home Patty and Linda intended to meet Claudia Dawson at Marty McGraw’s “Four Winds Jewelry” just above Florence but we stayed at Wanda’s too long and ran out of time. I hope to visit there soon.

Faye Lewis’ company at Switzer Square was Jeanette Humphrey, Georgia Humphrey, Pam Barringer, Gertrude Voris, Kelly Fitzner, Mike and Joanna Sawalich, Jean Sandidge, Evelyn Smith and Glenda Sullivan.

Faye Lewis’ 97th birthday will be May 15th. Her address is 500 East Seminary Street, Apartment 147, Vevay, IN 47043 if you would like to send a card. Happy birthday to Faye and to Sylvia Byars. The Florence Church bunch went to KFC Sunday to celebrate Sylvia’s birthday. Happy birthday to Virginia Bear in Madison. Debbie and Sharon visited her last week.

Last Monday Joy Dean Lee and her sister Barbara Ryker met Linda Scott, Hazel Wilkerson, Peggy Furnish and Glenda Sullivan for lunch in Vevay. They were in the V.H.S. Class of 1957 and enjoy their meetings whenever they can get together.

Tuesday Charles and Alberta Pickett went to Madison for a doctor’s appointment and had lunch at Ponderosa. They had a nice visit with Sharon Springer there. Wednesday Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan met Peggy Chase Sullivan at Ponderosa in Madison and also visited with Sharon Springer. They also met old friends Kenny and Shirley Bennett of Madison and their friends Louie Gilbert Jenkins and his wife Beatta. It was a good visit.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Randy and Lorraine Brown, Floyd Wiltz, Kay O’Neal and Paul Messmore.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth visited Bonnie’s mom Genevieve Truitt at Dillsboro Nursing Home Sunday and visited with Tonya Moore while there. Get well prayers for them and for Tracy Seale, Glenda Sullivan’s niece. She is improving slowly in Indianapolis.

Get well also for Rachel Gurley, Joe Cleaver, Joe Johnson, Joe Phelps, Juanita Baer, Sharon Ballard, Ray and Virginia Bear, Linda Mae Jones, Raymond Peters, Diana Patterson, Leah Jones, and all in need.

The tribute to Toni Kniola will be May 12th at the Hoosier Theater with the Music Club performance. No charge.

The Gallatin County Homemakers Mother’s Day tea will be Saturday, May 9th, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Gallatin County Extension office on Highway 42 near Warsaw. It is $5 per person for tea, cookies, and entertainment by Tyler Mullins Bluegrass. Come and decorate your table on Friday evening at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
