I was really sorry to read about Molly Buttons.

We had a good Relay meeting Thursday evening. It seems to be shaping up well. The churches are being asked to bring cupcakes or tea or lemonade for the Survivor Dinner on June 8th at the Switzerland County High School cafeteria.

The poppy sales went very well last week by the American Legion members. We always have a good time talking to everyone and the proceeds go for a good cause for our military people.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth went to the Twenhofel Middle School n Independence, Kentucky, May 21st for the Spring Choral Concert. Grandchildren John and Dorothy Duckworth were part of it. The 6th, 7th and 8th grades placed first. They got big trophies. John is in the 6th and Dorothy is in the 7th grade. Good for you.

Earl and Jerilyn Van Winkle went to Branson, Missouri last week to see Jerilyn’s brother Norvin Breeck in the Shoji Tabuchi Show. Norvin is the oldest dancer in the group and is still going strong. They are very proud of him. They stayed with Norvin and Kathy on their six-day trip and had a great time. They went to the Veterans Museum and the Wax Museum where Jerilyn got real close to Hugh Hefner for a photo. He couldn’t get away because he was wax. Just kidding, Jerilyn. They also went to the Sight and Sound Theater for the music story of Joseph.

I have solved a mystery. My welcome mat on the porch with the kitty cat pictures came from the across the street neighbors, Eddie and Debbie Gregory. They enjoy watching my cats too. Thanks, guys.

Happy birthday to Tiffany Rininger and Kiersten McClure.

Glad to see that Libby Ray is home from the Swiss Villa therapy.

Sympathy to Sue Dickerson and family for the loss of their Mother, the Larry Stockdale family, the Norris Conner family, the Elmer Farrington, Jr., family, the Leora Tingle Marsh family, the Marianne Lock family, the Robert Miller family and the Randall Trinkle family. The Trinkles used to live near Tapps Ridge Road and were very good people and well known.

Patty Chase and Nadine Swift had a nice visit with Jerry Jewell and Robin Scott when they all stopped for gas last week. Nadine found out that Robin works just down the street from her in Ohio.

I don’t have much news since it had to be in early due to the holiday to celebrate our Armed Forces and be thankful for them. Hope you had a good and safe holiday.
