I will start with a correction. Last week I put Beverly Curlin’s name instead of Becky Curlin. Becky was with the group of ladies that went to Indianapolis to Beef & Boards dinner theater for a girls night out. Sorry, my mistake.

I had a nice visit with Micki McCalip while in the voting line. She said she is bowling a couple of nights a week and doing okay.

Delores Robinson of Harrison and I had a nice visit by phone. She was in the area a couple of weeks ago visiting the Harold Scranton and Donnie Scranton homes near Fairview.

Mukesh and Bina Patch of the Florence Fairway Inn went to the graduation and party for their son Rooshil Patch at the University of Kentucky in Lexingon. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Congratulations, Rooshil.

Linda Jones is staying with her mom Betty Hargrove and will be having chemotherapy soon. She has had a lot of company and calls. Keep her in your prayers.

Robin and Jerry Jewell went to the Cincinnati ball game Sunday.

The Concord Church will have their spring garage sale Thursday and Friday, May 15th and 16th.

The Switzerland County Red Hat ladies will meet at the Sunset Grill near Warsaw Monday, May 19th, at 11:30 for lunch. Come join us.

There are a few new teams joining the American Cancer Society Relay for Life to be held on June 27th-28th at Ogle Park. We do not have a local leader. Anyone interested please let me know at 594-2289. Watch this paper for the next meeting date.

The new voting system worked real well. Not very many votes. We were disappointed. Maybe more can make it to vote in the fall.

The East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department will have its ham and bean dinner and Chinese auction Saturday evening, May 17th, 5-8 p.m. Free will offering at the East Enterprise Station.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase met Sue Westrick and about 12 more Carrollton Red Hat ladies at the Madison Shrimp House Wednesday for a good lunch and meeting. They also ran into Sherry Brindley Holwager and her sister-in-law, Missy Holwager of Madison. They were having lunch at the Shrimp House. Sherry was in from Missouri visiting her daughter and others. She will stay for a grandchild’s school awards program.

Kiersten and Kaden McClure of Madison and Dorothy and John Duckworth of Kentucky spent part of the weekend with grandparents, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth. Saturday they all met other family members at Bob Evans in Aurora to celebrate Mother’s Day with Bonnie’s mom Genevieve Truitt. Marc and Tehya Duckworth visited Roy and Bonnie Sunday and then picked up Dorothy and John to go on to Tehya’s parents, Rick and Toni Allen, on Fishing Worm Ridge.

Wilma Lester and her mom enjoyed the Mother’s Day dinner at Belterra Sunday. Later Wilma took her dad and her children to McDonald’s.

Ed Trinkle called last week from Virginia to say hi and ask about his fiends here.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase visited Barbara McCreary in Greendale Saturday. Bill was not at home. He had gone to have lunch with grandson Cameron McCreary. Glenda and Patty went on to Durbin Bowl in Lawrenceburg to visit Nadine Swift and her friends and family for granddaughter Belle’s birthday bowling party.

Margaret Lee Weidmann is recovering at home after a few days in King’s Daughters’ Hospital. Her company was Kay O’Neal, Dutchie Scholl and daughters Donna and Sherry, Gail Ann Clements, Ronnie Ackerman, Diana Brown, Kevin Scudder, Brandon, Julie, Gracie, Maddie and Divie Messmore, Melody and Todd Reese and children, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown. Cheryl Messmore spent the weekend. Sunday evening Ryan Brown fixed a good Mother’s Day supper for Randy and Lorraine Brown, Cheryl Messmore and grandma Margaret Lee.

Faye Lewis’ company was Robin Lawso, Patty Chase, Evelyn Smith, Ron and Jean Sandidge, Gertrude Voris and Glenda Sullivan.

Margie Whitham, Christy and Jodi Knaus, Chance and Teryn Hinman, Richard and Janet Sullivan Dana Einhaus, Clayton, Tracy and Devin Seale all enjoyed a Mother’s Day cookout at Squeaky and Jeanette Knaus’ Sunday.

Richard and Janet Sullivan visited Glenda Sullivan Sunday evening.
