The Florence and Friends American Cancer Society Relay For Life team will have their Sausage and Pancake breakfast Saturday morning, April 26th, at the Florence Firehouse from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Come support our team and enjoy a good breakfast. There are many other things going on in Switzerland County that day, so make a day of it and enjoy and support the many causes.
The revival at the Florence Church of Christ was really good and uplifting. Evangelist Kerry Allen of Hillsboro, Ohio Restoration Acres Christian Camp spent four days in the area and said he and Roy Duckworth enjoyed visiting and had a lot of good meals with friends. It was almost a full house at the revival and it had good music from the Greendale Church of Christ, the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ, the Browns from Madison, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth and Leona Adams. It was a good four days and we hope to have Evangelist Kerry Allen back again soon.
Steve Westrick and Jon Haag from Louisville came to surprise Mom, Loretta Westrick for her birthday. Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan met them at Loretta’s near Milton, Kentucky, and was in on the surprise. They had a beautiful cake made by Jon and other goodies from Kentucky Fried Chicken and presents. She was surprised. Steve, Jon and Loretta went to Erlanger, Kentucky, that evening for a friend’s wedding.
Paul and Sondra Furnish had a big Easter egg hunt and dinner Saturday. Jonas Keith, Peyton and Lane Turner, Hazel and Paul Knaus, Roy and Barbara Keith, Ernie and Danna Keith, Bill and Barbara McCreary, Danna McCreary, Cameron McCreary, Kyle Callahan and girlfriend, Lori McCreary and Sebastian and friend Darren Koons, Linda Furnish, Michael and Mickie Lynn Furnish, Aiden Furnish, Kirsten Furnish, Mike Kilgore, Ron and Vonda Downing, Janice Peelman, Gail Davis, Anisa McFadden and family, Emily Monjar and family and probably some I missed all enjoyed the day. I didn’t get there due to another commitment and I am sorry I missed it Sondra.
Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Kay O’Neal, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Cheryl Messmore spent from Friday to Monday. Bobby Brown spent from Friday to Sunday evening. Randy and Lorraine Brown, Bobby Brown and Cheryl Messmore took mom to Sunset Grill for Easter dinner. Mom was happy to get to help celebrate Ryan’s birthday. It’s nice to have him close by.
Twelve lovely Red Hat ladies met at Mo’s for lunch last Monday. Toni Kniola, Claudia Dawson, Joyce Johnson, Mary Jones, Melodee Stepleton, Diana Barry, Mary Christiani, June Lack, Laura Riga, Stasia Wiseman, Kay Cook and Patty Chase all enjoyed the get together. The next meeting will be May 19th. The place will be announced later. Watch this paper.
Glenda Sullivan, Faye Lewis and Patty Chase went to Westport to have Easter dinner at Richard and Janet Sullivan’s with Squeaky, Jeanette and Christy Knaus, Teryn Hinman, Clayton, Tracy and Devin Seale, Dana Einhause, Ryan Einhause and Nicole Smoker. They all enjoyed the big Easter egg hunt. It was a beautiful day. Marjorie Whitham didn’t feel good so she didn’t go. Keep her in your prayers.

We had a beautiful Sunrise service at the Florence Church of Christ with beautiful songs by Bonnie Duckworth. After the first service the men prepared a wonderful breakfast that everyone enjoyed.
Roy and Bonnie Duckworth visited Bonnie’s mom and dad,Verle and Genevieve Truitt, Sunday afternoon and took them an Easter dinner.
Denny and Mary Lou Bowman visited Patty Chase Saturday evening and brought her a gift and Easter basket from Cracker Barrel.
Keep Beulah Walston in your prayers. She always has a great butterscotch pie at the Aberdeen Preschool soup and supper, but wasn’t up to it a couple of weeks ago so I really missed the pie and Beulah too.
Jeff Peelman went to the emergency room and ended up staying. His family was with him Sunday. Keep him in your prayers.
Gary Lee Hambrick has had some medical attention and may need more. I’m not sure what they have done yet. Keep him and Kim in your prayers.
Dale and Danilee Thompson were visiting in Florence Sunday. Dale is still in recovery from his chemotherapy. Prayers for Dale.
The Florence and Friends Relay Team will meet at the Florence Church at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 24th, to bring supplies and get ready for the pancake breakfast Saturday.
