The East Enterprise Fire Department ham and bean dinner will be Saturday evening, April 21st.

The Florence and Friends ACS Relay team will have a pancake breakfast Saturday, April 28th, at the Florence Firehouse. Come help support our team and enjoy a good breakfast.

The Vevay Music Club will hold its annual musical show at the Hoosier Theater on May 8th at 7 p.m. A freewill offering will benefit the Betty Swango Scholarship Fund. Refreshments will be served.

I need to correct a mistake I made last week. Paul and Hazel Keith should have been Knaus, not Keith. Oops, sorry.

Charla and Alli Azbell returned to Indy Tuesday after meeting Fred Azbell and Dungy Dog at Frisch’s in Greensburg.

Ivan and Dollie Green and Galen and Billie Green enjoyed dinner at Belterra Friday night. Mary Lynn Reese, Deanna Green, Andrew Green, Reesea Jackson, Levi and Elijah Green and Kay Lee Crabtree spent Easter with Ivan and Dollie Green. This weekend Ivan and Dollie visited the Azbells in Indy and watched Sam in the AAU tournament. Elijah Green visited Ivan and Dollie while Kay Lee Crabtree and Deanna Green went to Lawrenceburg to get a dog for Deanna’s birthday. Happy birthday, Deanna.

The shoe factory reunion was Saturday at the Senior Citizen Center. Not very many came but it was really nice. Everyone won a door prize. We had good food carried in. thanks to all for that and to the local merchants and other for the door prize donations. Edelweiss provided the flowers for the tables and they were used for door prizes too. Tom Crabtree came for a while. Jimmy and Mary Simmons, Billy and Mary Lynne Jewell and Thelma Seal came from the Madison plant. John and Joan Wright came the farthest. Florence Haskell was t he oldest and Frances Pike had worked there the longest. Earl Wayne Furnish almost tied times with Frances but she got the prize. Lewis Fitter stayed to help us clean up and carry stuff to our cars. Thanks to all who came. It was a fun day.

Leona Adams’ aunt Ginny has moved to Villa Hills, Kentucky from Arizona. Leona helped her move into her condo Friday. Richard and Leona Adams went to the Rising Sun Band Concert and said it was really good.

Easter dinner guests of Galen and Billie Green were Randy, Michelle, Samuel and Jackson White, Cindy Turner, Joei Gray, McKayla, Kristina, Kyla and Vickie Hitchcock. After dinner an egg hunt w as enjoyed by the children.

Marilyn Lewellyn and friend were visiting Vevay Sunday. She said her mom Marian Lewellyn is in River Crossing Assisted Living in Charlestown. Jeanie is in Clarksville, Tammy is in Madison and Jimmy is doing well in Dayton, Ohio.

I had a lovely visit with Ginger Matuzas at the Welcome Center Sunday. Ginger and Charles lived in Florence several years ago and were good neighbors. Charles passed away recently. Sympathy to the family and friends.

I met Sherley Sample at the Welcome Center Friday. I didn’t know him. He said he was raised in Bennington but lives in Louisville now. I mentioned the store fire and he said yes it burnt years ago and was rebuilt. So I had to tell him it just burnt again a few days ago and I had the Vevay paper to show him. He was really sad because it was his family’s store.

Mary Lou Bowman had hip surgery last week and is doing well. Del Percer-Snook had gall bladder surgery and is doing well. Jeff Peelman is doing okay after treatments. Wayne Lester is still recovering after heart surgery. Denton Bush is recovering at home. Faye Lewis got a fairly good report when Glenda and Jean took her back for a check-up after getting bruised up in a fall. Libby Ray has been in King’s Daughters’ Hospital, Kentuckiana and now Swiss Villa for therapy after a heart procedure. Geri Gregory is still in need of a doctor’s care. Keep them in your prayers and many others.

Faye Lewis’ company was Robin Lawson, Judy Amos, April Powers, Alice Faye Whitham, Mary Archer, Evelyn Smith, Nora Gross, Patty Chase, Gretchen Knox, Cathy DeBaun, Sarah Headen, Joana Sawalich, Don Allen, Glenda Sullivan, Rhonda Frifield, Mark Scott and Ron and Jean Sandidge.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Kay O’Neal, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown. Margaret Lee visited Millie Coy and Dutchie Scholl Friday. Mom took pizza from Roxano’s to Denny and Diana Brown Friday and had a good supper and enjoyable visit.

Kay O’Neal and Margaret Lee visited in Madison Tuesday.

Dale Johnson had a lot of friends and family come out for his visitation Sunday at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun. He was a good person and will be missed. Sympathy to the family.

Leona Adams told me Bill Harvey Rea passed away. Sorry to hear that.

Martha McKee and Paula Cloat spent Easter weekend in Nashville, Indiana with Sherri, Jordan, Bryce and Logan Houze. Rocky McKenzie, Kaine and Albanie joined them on Sunday for dinner. Jordan and Kaine hid eggs for the kids to find. They all enjoyed a huge ham dinner and really good homemade ice cream. Bishop, the German Shepherd, also enjoyed having dinner with them. They had a good day.

Margie Whitham, Squeaky, Jeanette, Christy and Jodi Knaus, Chance and Teryn Hinman, Tracy and Devin Seale, Dana and Ryan Einhaus, Cindy Geis and Glenda Sullivan had a good Easter dinner with Richard and Janet Sullivan in Westport.
