Don’t forget the Shoe Factory reunion Saturday, April 13th, at the Jack Sullivan Senior Citizen Center.

Mukesh and Bina Patel of Union, Kentucky, are celebrating nine years at the pretty Fairway Inn in Florence on March 19th. They are an asset to the community and good friends. Their full and part-time employee, Wilma Lester, Gerrilyn Henderson, D. J. Wilhoite, Ruth Beatty, Alisha Dillow, Tonya Smith and Patty Chase extend best wishes to them and hope for continued success.

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life teams will have a meeting March 28th (tonight) at the Water Works Building on Seminary Street in Vevay at 6 p.m. Captains bring your registration sheets.

Rita Brogan, Wilma Dennis, Andrea Brogan and Alisha Fritter flew to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, to go out on a cruise on the Freedom Carnival. After two days at sea they stopped at St. Thomas and visited Megans Beach and had a nice visit with Vince Roberts. The next day they went to the Sandals at Antiqua, then to Tortola. There they went on a smaller boat called the catamaran and went snorkeling. (A bucket list item.) They were excited to get that done. The next day was at sea, then a stop as Nassau and some shopping. They had a wonderful time.

Wilma Brogan was in the hospital for a while but is home now. Keep her in your prayers.

Lewis and Alisha Fritter went to funeral services for little eight-year-old Sara Nelson in Ohio. Sympathy to her family.

Kim Hambrick is still having issues after her illness. Pray for her and for Gary Lee as he is having problems too.

Denny and Diana Brown’s company was Sharon and Dave Wilson, Judy Bailey, Shawn Auxier, Audrey Marsh, Ron Maargison, Herman Wattenbaurger and Howard and Julie Hazeldean. They want to thank Dave and Sharon for all the good meals, especially the meatloaf. And thanks to Howard and Julie for the good meals. Denny enjoyed the fried chicken. They also thank them for the beautiful bathroom floors and other items.

Esther Cook and Grady Witcher’s company at Fairway Inn was Esther’s dad, Melvin Tolliver and her girls Emily and Natalie and families. Patty Chase also dropped in.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Charles and Alberta Pickett, Tiffany Rininger, Corinne Martin and Patty Chase enjoyed the Cross Plains Church of Christ revival with Kerry Allen Tuesday night. Judy Lozier, Patty Chase and Albera Pickett went to the revival Thursday night and were really glad to see Jim Welch there. Jim was in a serious auto accident Wednesday and was banged up. Ashley Works was also in the same accident and was hurt very badly. Jim was very concerned about her as everyone is. We will keep her in our prayers.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth went to Hillsboro, Ohio, Family Camp Thursday for some classes. Friday night they were back for the Cross Plains Revival and the good food and fellowship.

Denny and Mary Lou Bowman enjoyed a couple of weeks in Florida.

Johnny Dale and Kim Lock visited their girls and families in West Lafayette two weeks ago.

Jerilyn Van Winkle called to say her brother Norvin Breeck won a trophy for the “Dancing With the Stars” benefit for charity at the Dick Clark Theater in Branson, Missouri. Her daughter Molli just started in a pilot reality show with four more lovely young ladies in the San Francisco Bay area.

Wilma Lester’s pretty little Emmaline will go to Indianapolis for a beauty contest. We’ll get more details.

Faye Lewis, Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase had a good lunch at A.J.’s Thursday. Faye’s company last week was Annette and Lexie Deno, Jean Sandidge, Joanna and Mike Sawalich and Glenda Sullivan.

Our Florence and Friends Relay Team has been saving cans and selling candy for our fundraiser. Cindy Laib gets the candy for us and Charles Pickett has been selling it right and left. Look out for Charles. He will probably be our candy king again this year.

Lorraine Brown has been in California for two weeks helping her mother Zella Wiltz celebrating her birthday and visiting her brother Floyd.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Kay O’Neal and Randy and Ryan Brown.

Bobby Brown has been spending a few days with his daughter Jamiel and grandsons in Brooke Park, Ohio.
