The American Cancer Society Relay teams will have their kick-off meeting March 31st at the Utility Building on Seminary Street at 6 p.m. Come join a team or bring your own team. We will have pitch-in refreshments. Bring your favorite pitch-in and bring a friend.
The Shoe Factory reunion will be Saturday, April 11th, at the Jack Sullivan Senior Center from 2-4 p.m. Help us spread the word.
The Red Hot Hatters met last Monday at the American Legion meeting room. Fourteen ladies enjoyed the Irish stew made by Connie at the Legion. It was really good. The Florence Flowers Extension Homemakers Club entertained the East Enterprise Club for St. Patrick’s Day. From East Enterprise: Carolyn Lohide, Ruth Lohide, Myra Boles, Donnie Hollander, Joy Briggs and Barbara Barnhill; and from Florence: Sylvia Byars, Inez Harker, Sharon Patterson, Bonnie Duckworth, Patty Chase, and Leon a Adams all enjoyed the day.
The Taylor Mill Calvary Christian School in Covington, Kentucky, presented “Seussical” the musical Saturday evening. Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Melissa Duckworth, Marc, Tehya and John Duckworth, Kiersten and Kaden McClure all attended to see Marc and Tehya’s daughter Dorothy perform. They said it was really good. Kiersten and Kaden spent the night with Roy and Bonnie and Sunday most of the met Verle Truitt, Amy Maddox and Randy and Michelle McClure at the nursing home in Dillsboro to visit Genevieve Truitt.
Bob and Linda Smith went to Newark, Ohio, to visit Linda’s mom Phyllis McCoy, Bob and Linda’s daughter Renae Smith flew in from Houston, Texas, to visit at the same time. Get well to Linda’s mom.
Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase had a nice visit with LeeAnn, Emily and Kelsey Bush at Shell’s.
Gail Ann Clements, Kay O’Neal, Randy Brown, Dutchie Scholle, and Sherry Young visited Margaret Lee Weidmann last week. Wednesday Kay and Margaret Lee were in Carrollton and had lunch at Welch’s. Margaret Lee and Randy had a good time at Betty Hargrove’s party at the Legion Saturday night.
The Bear children: Mike Bear, Gerald Bear, Sharon LeMasters, Kathy Perkins and Debbie and Ed Gregory took Ray and Virginia Bear to Scottsburg Cracker Barrel Saturday to celebrate Ray’s 86th birthday. They had a great time. Happy birthday, Ray.
LeAnn Lozier celebrated her birthday at a party at home with Judy Lozier, LoriAnn and Ryan, Nancy Johnson and Frank, Mike Johnson and Willie Leach, also Courtney, Suzie and Caleb. Happy 22nd, LeAnn.

Leona Adams, Gaye Snyder, Sue Turner, Billie Varble and Colleen Lozier had a wonderful time with several others on the trip to Woodford Reserve Winery in Versailles, Kentucky and had a good meal at Holly Hills. It was the Morgan-Nay trip.
