Betty Hargrove and Davy Leap want to thank everyone for such a great joint birthday party Saturday night at the Vevay American Legion. A lot of friends and family were there with lots of good food and cakes. Happy Birthday, Betty and Davy.

Cheryl Messmore visited her mom Margaret Lee Weidmann and family on the weekend. Margaret Lee wants to thank Steve and Martha Bladen for her St. Patrick’s Day supper they sent to her. Also thanks to Kay O’Neal and Dicky Jones for all the desserts they bring and to Lorraine Brown for all the good meals she fixes.

Bob and June Cole Rice had to leave their home for awhile in California due to the flood at a dam. They are back now, but Bob had to have open heart surgery, so let’s keep them in our prayers.

Sympathy to the Ruby Blackburn family.

The old Shoe Factory will have another reunion on Saturday, April 8th, at the Jack Sullivan Senior Citizen Center from 2-4 p.m. for all family and friends and past employees. Nathan and Donna Hughes are in charge, with Glenda Sullivan, Patty Chase, Mary Lou Furnish, and others helping. If you would like to help, please see any of the ones mentioned and please tell your friends. We want everyone to get the word. Thank you!

An interested Florence resident said that town is 200 years old this year, and thinks a birthday celebration would be fun this summer. Please call me at (812) 594-2289 or write to P.O. Box 53, Florence, Indiana, 47020 with your ideas. We can call a meeting and plan a good time for all that would “come home.” We need you and your ideas. Watch this paper for more information.

We are planning to go to the REMC meeting April 1st. It has been moved to South Ripley school. Hope to see you there.

The local Red HOT Hat ladies had a nice lunch and get together last week at Sunset Grill near Warsaw, Kentucky. 13 ladies attended and had a great time. Food was good, too.

Happy Birthday to LeAnn Lozier.

Get well to John Archer, Glenda Fritter, and Joe Johnson.

Last week I put Ray Mellen’s name on the family sympathy lits, but his name came out as Ray Miller. He was Glenda Sullivan’s and Carolyn Lowe’s nephew. It got spelled wrong somewhere, and I just wanted to get the right name in.

It was nice to see Dale and Danilee Thompson from North Vernon in church in Florence Sunday. Dale is still improving each day. Keep him in your prayers.

Jerry Jewell visited Bud and Betty Hargrove last week.

Linda Jones, Betty Hargrove, PJ Jones and Annie and the kids had Sunday Brunch at Belterra. They said it is really good.
