Betty Hargrove, Peggy and Darrell Stoll, Linda Jones, P. J. Jones, Davy and Patty Leap went to Anderson for the funeral service for Billy Leap. They said it was a really big and nice funeral. Sympathy to the friends and family. Billy will be missed. Jerry Jewell, Linda Jones, P. J. and Annie Jones, Jason and Jasmine, Bobby Leap and Ruth Ann Lorch visited with Bud and Betty Hargrove.

We are sorry to hear Melba Dean Brett Littrell passed away in New Carlisle, Ohio. Melb was raised in Vevay and went to school with us. She had a lot of friends here. Sympathy to her friends and family. She will be missed. Libby Ray spent Saturday night with Mickey and Direnda Ray and they took her to Melba Dean’s visitation in New Carlisle Sunday. Libby also got a good report from her last doctor’s visit.

Sympathy also to the Freda Ellis family. I met Freda when I started to church here in Florence. She later moved to Rising Sun. Freda was a good person and will be missed. Sympathy to Jimmy Lewis’ family. Jim and Faye were our bowling buddies and good friends to many and he will be missed. Sympathy also to the Clinton Curry family. He was well known and will be missed.

Nadine Swift of Miamitown, Ohio, Juanita Baer of Bright and Glenda Sullivan celebrated their birthdays at Lawrenceburg’s Frisch’s Saturday night with Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Charles and Alberta Pickett, Denny and Mary Lou Bowman, Patty Chase, Casey and Sheila Rininger, Tiffany Rininger, Lacy Rininger and Isabella Shipp.

Happy birthdays also for Janet Brown, Torrie Heffelfinger, Genevieve Truitt, Sondra Furnish, Kenny Thomas, Mary Whitesell Lee’s husband Bill on the 29th and others I can’t remember.

The Florence Flowers Extension Homemakers Club had a good meeting at the home of Leona Adams last Monday evening.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase took Faye Lewis to Madison for an appointment and met Peggy Sullivan for lunch at Frisch’s last week. Patty also had a nice visit with Kenny and Shirley Bennett and friends at Frisch’s.

Dylan and Garren Messmore played in basketball tourneys on the weekend at Vevay and in Cincinnati. They won both tourneys. Good for them. They go to East Central School.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Kay O’Neal, Randy and Lorraine Brown, Pat Collier, Paul, Bryan, Dylan, Shawn, Lisa, Garren, Taylor and A.J. Messmore.

Faye Lewis’ company was Audrey Marsh, Ethel Althoff, Evelyn Smith, Nora Gross, Kathy DeBaun, Don Allen, Ron and Jean Sandidge and Glenda Sullivan.
