The Florence community was saddened to hear Harold “Bubby” Smith had passed away last week. Our sympathy goes out to his mom Pruda Mae and all the family. Bubby will be missed by his family and many friends.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase went to the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Kentucky Wednesday to meet with Loretta Westrick and friend Teresa and Mike and Debbie Gardner for the visitation of Nancy Westrick Baker. Sympathy to the family.

Lee Ann Bush called to ask everyone to send get well cards to Clara Dunning at 2020 Cragmont, Apt. 8, Madison, IN 47250. Clara is very ill and loves to get cards. Keep her in your prayers.

Dollie and Ivan Green got to watch three of Sam’s basketball games while they were visiting the Azbells in Indy on Super Bowl weekend. They also had hot chocolate and cookies with Bailey on Grandparents Day last Monday.

Mike and Jackie Scudder, Libby Ray and Terri Spenneberg visited Melba Dean and Nathan Littrell last week. Melba Dean went to the hospital the next day and is not very well Libby said. Keep her in your prayers.

Sarah Headen and Traci Holmes took Earl Holmes to University of Cincinnati Hospital last Friday to have eye surgery. He had the surgery and seems to be doing real well. He has to stay four days for radiation treatments. Keep him in your prayers.

The Swiss Idol auditions will be at the Hoosier Theater Saturday evening, February 18th. Register at the Switzerland County Welcome Center before Saturday if interested in performing.

We had a nice time at the Kiwanis Relay team fundraiser Sunday evening in Vevay. They had good music, great food, silent auction and a good time.

The Patriot Fire Department team will have a teen dance this Saturday night, February 18th, at Patriot for their fundraiser. Let’s all go to support them.

Randy and Lorraine Brown had dinner at Belterra to celebrate Lorraine’s birthday.

Margaret Lee Weidmann spent Wednesday with Denny and Diana Brown and enjoyed watching tapes of the old Dragnet shows. Judy and Cabell McKee sent the tapes to Denny and Diana. Kay O’Neal and Margaret Lee visited Denny and Diana Brown Sunday afternoon.

Faye Lewis’ company was Ron and Jean Sandidge, Mark Scott, Evelyn Smith, Nora Gross, Sally Nay, Mike Sawalich and Glenda.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth visited Randy, Michelle, Kirsten and Kaden McClure Saturday with valentines for the kids.

Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan had a good time at the spaghetti supper in Warsaw Saturday. It was for their Relay fundraiser. Andrea Brogan and friend Ryan and his mother were also there. It was nice to meet them. Yolanda Gould was the emcee and it was a big night. Hope they raised a lot for their Relay.

The Switzerland County American Cancer Society Relay meeting w ill be Thursday, February 23rd, at 6 p.m. at the water works building. Come and join a team or bring a new team. We need you.
