Happy Valentine’s Day.
The Switzerland County Red Hat ladies had a lovely day at the Julia Knox House Saturday. Kay Cook, Toni Kniola, Lois McKay, Dottie Keeton, Louise Rose, Charlene Goff, Jan Bixler, Reva Johnson, Patty Chase, Claudia Dawson, Mary Christiani, June Lack and Sandy Dawson all enjoyed the delicious food and fellowship. They also had a gift exchange that was fun. Billie Jackson and Barbara Dowdy served the good food and Barbara made a beautiful red, white and blue dessert for Presidents’ Day. Our next meeting will also be at the Julia Knox March 13th at 11 a.m. Come join us in your red hat.
Shirley White and Katie Metsker celebrated their birthdays at the lovely home of Dean and Tina Henry on Log Lick Road. Others attending were Danny Hehe and Quinton, Emily Schroeder, Natalie and John Hummel, Jessie, Jamie Caraker, Josh Henry, Ashley Holt and Carley, Maggie Henry and Scott. They had good food, good cake and a good time.
George and Mary Edith Potter and Dean and Tina Henry had supper at The Reservation in Milan before church Sunday evening.
Little Luke James spent the weekend at the Adams home on Turtle Creek with Mama Onie and Papa Richard.
Patty Chase, Glenda Sullivan and Reva Johnson met Sue Westrick and the Red Hat Ladies of Carrollton at Hometown Pizza Wednesday and had a great time.
Glenda and Patty took Nora Gross to the cancer center in Madison for a checkup and she got a really good report.
Bonnie Duckworth went with her dad, Verle Truitt, to Dearborn County Hospital for the first of a series of pain shots. He said he already felt a little better. Roy stopped to check o Verle and Genevieve on his way home from work the next day. Get well prayers for Verle.
Peggy and Darrell Stoll of Washington, Indiana spent a few days with Bud and Betty Hargrove. Davy and Patty Leap visited and they all played cards. Happy birthday to Davy.
Patty Chase, Glenda Sullivan, Chuck and Alberta Pickett, Kenny Clements and many others went to the Louie Peelman benefit in East Enterprise Saturday. It seemed to be a big success.
Charles and Alberta Pickett, Patty Chase and many others went to the Jack Adkins benefit at Patriot Saturday evening. That was also a big success.
Patty went to the Girl Scouts spaghetti dinner at the Jack Sullivan Building Saturday evening and took the dinner home with her as she has already been to too many eating events. They had cookies for sale too.
Gail Ann Clements, Kay O’Neal, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Paul Messmore, Cheryl Messmore, Bobby Brown, Mary Jane Demaree and Joyce Atwood all visited Margaret Lee Weidmann last week.
Gary and Karen Wentworth had a gig crowd in for their grandson Shelby Henry’s 18th birthday and Amber Hoskins’ birthday party. They had good food, good cake and a good time with Travis Griffith for their D.J.
Ron and Jean Sandidge, Alice Faye Whitham, Don Allen, Mike and Joanna Sawalich, Nora Gross, Evelyn Smith and Glenda Sullivan visited Faye Lewis last week.
Jack Bailey, Shawn Auxier, Anelisa Auxier, Audrey Marsh, Sharon and Dave Wilson all visited Denny and Diana Brown a couple of weeks ago. They want to thank Audrey for helping with some spring cleaning and thank Dave and Sharon for the good home cooked meatloaf meal. The next week Jack and Judy Bailey, Audrey Marsh, Angie Handlon, Sharon Wilson, Howard and Julie Haeldean. Thanks to Howard and Julie for the delicious homemade jelly and vegetable beef soup and thanks Jack and Judy for their help.
Winnie Woolums Embry flipped her car the day it snowed. They were out near Canaan when she rolled it two times. She wants to thank the Canaan Fire Department, the Jefferson County Police and Debbie Liter for calling for help and Stacie Conard for taking the two grandsons, Dylan and Alec Castle and Felecia Taylor home while Winnie and her son Chris Castle went to the hospital. Also thanks to Josh Gosiniak for taking Harold to pick her and Chris up at the hospital. Thanks to Rita Smith for all her help and Rick Woolums and many others for their concern.
