Florence News 12-8-16

Welcome to the world, Conner Bryant Whaley, born a few weeks ago to Trent and Stephanie (Adams) Whaley.

Donna and Bill Fisher of the Rising Sun area called to tell me my dear friend and classmate Ronnie Fisher had passed away a few days ago at Seymour. He is Bill’s brother and always came to the Vevay High School Alumni with his wife until she died; and then his daughter came with him. Our Class of 1954 sends sympathy to his family.

I got a nice call from Jodie Winslow from Rising Sun. She spent two weeks in Texas with her sister and brother-in-law and was calling to see how I am doing and to see if she missed anything while she was gone and didn’t get to read the Vevay paper.

Betty Peters Drew called to say Betty Lock Christman’s little five year-old grandson, Harry, tried to take chemo but was too dehydrated. He is at Stage 3. The doctor at Indianapolis is working with a doctor form California. Get well prayers for him. Betty’s mom, Flossie Lock is 92 and doing okay.

Allen Gipson and Jodi Knaus were married October 26th. Saturday night the friends and family gave a reception for them at the East Enterprise Fire House. Many friends attended and had a good time. Congratulations to Allen and Jodi.

Richard and Leona Adams and others enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Mike James and family.

Sympathy to Leona Adams and the Stutzman family. Her sister Becky Fair died in an auto accident in Florida a few days ago.

Debbie Gregory visited Patty Saturday evening. Sunday afternoon Martha McKee and Glenda Sullivan visited Patty at Switzer Square.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Kay O’Neal, Diana Brown, Audrey Marsh, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown.

Kevin Harrell of Madison passed away. We send our sincere sympathy to Linda Scott Harrell and family. We are thinking of you Linda.

Bonnie Robinson has had pneumonia. Get well prayers for her. Her brother Jimmy Ware is home from the nursing home in Mt. Olive, Kentucky. Get well to him.

Thanksgiving day Rocky McKenzie had Martha McKee, Paul and Phil Cloat and Kaine McKenzie for a really good dinner. Then on Saturday, Martha, Paula, Phil and Kaine, Sherry Houze, Jordan Houze and his sons Logan and Bryce form Nashville, Indiana and Rocky McKenzie all had another dinner with Cole McKenzie and his family. Needless to say we had more good food.

Cabell McKee and Judy lost their sweet dog ‘Bindi’ a month ago. He called Friday and said they adopted a rescue doberman name Ziva – won’t be the same but another dog has a good home.

Come and join us at the Florence Church of Christ tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m. for the Tom Shelton concert. Refreshments to follow.
