Florence Church will welcome in the New Year from 8 p.m. until Midnight at the Church on New Year’s Eve. Please come and bring snacks and games.

The Switzer Square Christmas dinner was really good Tuesday night. The board members, residents, and guests enjoyed the delicious meal by Cindy Welch and her helpers and enjoyed the money drawings. It was a fun night.

Carolers from Milton, Kentucky Methodist Church were at Swiss Villa. Janet Middleton’s granddaughter was in the group. They were really good.

Monday, Judy Lozier, Karen Wentworth, Alberta Pickett, Bonnie Duckworth, and Patty Chase went on a little road trip to Our Best Restaurant at Smithfield, Kentucky, but it was closed on Mondays. So they went on to Cracker Barrel in LaGrange. That was a very good second choice. We all had a good afternoon. Larry Stewart came in while we were there. He had been to the Veterans Hospital in Louisville for a doctor’s appointment. We asked him to sit with us and buy our dinner, but he thought he was outnumbered.

Denny and Mary Lou Bowman had breakfast in Vevay, then went on to Swiss Villa to visit Glenda Sullivan. Glenda is recovering from her fall, but now has a virus or the flu and is really sick. Keep her in your prayers.

Phyllis Thomas’ Christmas Eve guests were her children and grandchildren. Mary Eversole; Paula and Larry Washnock; Darla, Patrick, and Bill Browning; Lisa and John Clifton, Xavier and Xander; Deanna Flynn and Jacob Flynn; David Thomas; and Jessica Griffin and son, Noah. All had a great time. Congratulations to Jacob Flynn on joining the Navy. We are so proud of you and how well you have done.

Genevieve Truitt’s Christmas company at The Waters in Dillsboro on Tuesday included Verle Truitt; Sherrie Johnson; Verlene and Vernon Sharp; Roger Truitt and Barb Findley; and Roy and Bonnie Duckworth. They all had a good Christmas visit.

Randy, Michelle, Kiersten, and Kaden McClure; Marc, Tehya, Dorothy, and John Duckworth had Christmas with Roy and Bonnie Duckworth on Saturday. After a delicious meal and a fun gift exchange, they went to visit Verle Truitt and met Melissa Duckworth there for another good visit.

Cheryl Messmore is spending the week with her mom, Margaret Lee Weidmann. Kay O’Neal and Gail Ann Clements also visited one day. Margaret Lee and Cheryl had a wonderful Christmas Eve supper with Randy, Lorraine, and Ryan Brown. The family dinner the next day was also with Randy, Lorraine, and Ryan; with A.J. Taylor, Garren and friend Tabby; and Lisa and Shawn Messmore. Also: Jason and Paul Messmore; Gracie Jean, Vivia, Mattie, Lyla Rose and Julie and Brandon Messmore; Kyle, Niko, Megan and Victor Ferreira. It was a great day. Afternoon visitors were Jerilyn Van Winkle, Bobby Ferguson, and Mark Arvin. Bobby and Diane Brown from Illinois will be spending the week in town. They hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.
