FLORENCE NEWS 12/13/2018

The Florence Church of Christ had a really good holiday dinner Sunday after morning service. They also had Tom Shelton in concert Thursday night and a good crowd enjoyed his music and the refreshments that followed. Before Sunday dinner we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to David Wentworth and had cake afterward. It was a good day of fellowship.

  Judy Lozier broke her ankle (fell over the dog) and needed surgery Monday in Kentucky. Get well prayers for Judy.

  Nadine Swift of Ohio was working in Switzerland County during the week and had supper with Patty Chase on Saturday evening.

  Carolyn Lowe visited Beverly Davis at River Terrace in Madison. Patty had a nice phone visit with Kay Cook one day.

  Jerry McKenzie President of Vevay High School class of 1954 sent his classmates a letter with details of coach John Collier funeral arrangements Mr. Collier was a good friend to the basketball team as well as a coach. Jerry also sent Jean’s address if we wanted to send her a card. He also wished everyone Merry Christmas and Happy new Year. Jerry lives in Michigan now. I have Jean’s address if you want to call me at (812) 594-2289 and leave a message and number and I will return your call.

  Margaret Lee Weidmann said she got her first Christmas card from Judy and Tommy Ellegood and a beautiful little decorated Christmas tree delivered from Edelweiss floral from Bob and Mary Lou Furnish’s children Teresa, Carol Sue and Taylor. Her company was Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Kathleen Bolton and Kay O’Neal.

  Mark and Rhonda Scott from Kentucky visited the Florence Church of Christ Sunday for the holiday dinner.

  LeeAnn, Emily, Kelsey and Kylan Bush went to New Washington last week to watch Braxton in an archery meet for the school.

  Shannon Jackson and Glenda Sullivan visited Patty Chase one day last week.
