Florence News 11-20-14

I felt like I was in “long ago” Vevay Friday night at the Ladies Bazaar open house. There were a lot of people coming and going. It’s also good to see the Swiss Inn lit up. They had really good food at the Ladies Bazaar night. You also got not only a greeting but most people were getting hugs. It was really nice.

I’m watching out the window as I write this news on Sunday night. It was raining and about 10 p.m. the big snowflakes started to fall but didn’t stick. Now at 10:45 it’s just raining again. Hope we don’t get the snow they are forecasting.

Faye Lewis’ company was Jeanette Humphrey, Linda LaFountain, Ethel Althoff, Robin Lawson, Gertrude Voris, Mike and Joanna Sawalich, Evelyn Smith, Jean Sandidge and Glenda Sullivan.

Richard and Janet Sullivan of Westport visited Margie Whitham Sunday afternoon. Jeanette Knaus also visited at the same time. Richard and Janet had supper at the Crossroads in Versailles on the way home.

Dale and Danilee Thompson of North Vernon spent the weekend at their home in Florence and attended church Sunday morning.

Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan ran into LeeAnn and Kelsey Bush and Jeff and Braxton May at Shell’s and had a nice visit Friday evening.

Saturday, Patty and Glenda spent the day at the Stonehouse Creations and Greenhouse Farmers Market and Craft Show. Patty had a Mary Kay table and there were a lot of nice crafts, jams, jellies and donuts, etc.

Patty and Glenda stopped at Subway in Ghent and got a pizza, then stopped at McDonald’s in Carrollton and got sandwiches and went to Loretta Westrick’s where she had Cokes and Pepsi and had a nice afternoon lunch and visit.

Betty Hargrove told me her niece Connie Carrico Miller was to have surgery last week. Hope she is doing okay. She is Peggy’s daughter and lives in Booneville near Evansville. Get well prayers for her. Also for Naomi Johnson, Dr. Beckett, Dr. Zubaty, Karen Nicklas and all in need.

Now it’s Monday morning and yeah we got the snow.
