Florence News 10-31-13


I stopped at Circle K at Markland one evening for a cup of coffee and met Sue Flick. We had a good visit.

Dean and Tina Henry, Jamie and Jessie Caraker, Maggie Henry and Shirley White had a wonder vacation at North Carolina Outer Banks.

Faye Lewis’ company was Robin Lawson, Janet Kent, Joan Sawalich, Tim, Annette, Abby, Parker and Lexi Deno, Nora Gross, Jean Sandidge and Glenda Sullivan. Faye went to a little get together for supper in the Switzer Square recreation room with Nora Gross, Cathy DeBaun, Daniel, Jennifer, Daniel, Jr., Robert and Mary Elizabeth DeBaun. Other friends dropped in. They had a nice visit.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was Kay O’Neal, Gail Ann Clements, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, and Floyd Wiltz. Floyd has returned to his home in Mexico for a few months. Kim Curry also visited Margaret Lee and she wants to say she appreciates Kim’s sewing.

Nadine Swift met Patty Chase and Roy and Bonnie for a quick supper at Circle K near Markland. She was on her way from one job in Kentucky to Delaware, Indiana. We had a good visit. Roy is feeling well after his heart surgery.

We were sorry to hear that Robert Whitlock of Fishers passed away. He was Lura Mae Smith’s son-in-law, married to Carol. Sympathy to the family.

Judy Lozier’s brother, Willie Leach, is recovering from a fall. Get well to him.

Get well to Marshall Carter. Wanda has been taking him for dialysis three times a week.

Dale Thompson had cancer surgery Monday and things turned out well. He will be taking radiation. Get well prayers for Dale. Get well prayers also for Janet Cleaver, Delores Tague, Verle Truitt, and many more.

Bonnie and Roy Duckworth visited with Verle and Genevieve Truitt several days last week.

Michael Bess II (formerly of Florence) and Leslie Maushart were united in marriage on October 26th in a beautiful ceremony at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, followed by a beautiful reception. They are spending a week in Florida for their honeymoon.
