Florence News 10-12-17


The Florence, Indiana Birthday party will be this Saturday October 14th starting with the cake contest at noon and the official opening will be at 1 p.m. Hope you can stop in Florence that day before 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to share in the history of the town. There will be free food and ‘Diamondback’ band and lots of old friends visiting. The chili will be prepared Friday evening October 13th by Steve and Sam of Patty’s Reach. Come and help with the set up Friday evening. Have contest cakes there by 11:30 a.m.

The Center Square Baptist Church had a nice service for the Swiss Villa residents Sunday, about 15 people attended.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth spent a few days traveling to Pennsylvania and other points of interest to celebrate their 40th anniversary a little early. They had a great time.

Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan had breakfast with Denny Bowman Friday while he was in town on business.

Linda Jones, P.J., Annie and the kids had Sunday lunch at Butler Park.

Alberta Pickett and her family enjoyed the Aurora Farmers Fair and parade on Saturday.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Alberta Pickett, Tiffany Rininger and Patty Chase went to the Revival at the Versailles Church of Christ on Wednesday night. They visited with Bob and Mary Florence Koons, Eric and Tammy Welch and many other friends.

Kay O’Neal, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown and Melody Reese visited Margaret Lee Weidmann. Ryan has been working in Ohio and Illinois.

Get well to Jimmy Simmons, Lybbi Heffelfinger, Sharon Copeland and Bud and Betty Hargrove.
