Florence was the place to be Saturday evening for the fall picnic at the Church of Christ yard and in the street. Great music filled the air Saturday afternoon over the town. Fun and snow cones for the kids began at 4 p.m., and the food provided by the church was ready at 5 p.m. The men cooked the hamburgers and hot dogs and the ladies helped with the extras and the desserts. Good fellowship followed and at 7 p.m., and the band “64 To Grayson” gave a wonderful concert for an hour. Many locals and out of towners enjoyed the evening. It was a good day and a good time was had by all.

Casey, Sheila and Tiffany Rininger, Megan Rininger and her family attended the picnic at Florence; then Casey, Sheila, Tiffany and Megan met Frank Rininger at the Kentucky Speedway for the races Saturday night.

Denny and Mary Lou Bowman, LeeAnn and Emily Bush and Braxton May met Patty Chase at the picnic in Florence for a good visit. Earlier in the day, Patty met LeeAnn, Emily Kelsey, Braxton May and Kelsey’s friend Cam and other friends at the Riverview Baptist Church for a good (and free) pancake breakfast. The pastor, Joe Lamson, flipped some fine pancakes and sausage. Thanks for a good visit.

Dr. and Mrs. Cabell McKee and Bindi Dog (Martha’s best friend) visited Martha McKee a few days on their way to a Dutch Cousins reunion at Frankfort Kentucky, where they stayed with Dr. and Mrs. W.P. McKee. They returned Sunday before leaving for Great Falls, Virginia. While here they visited with Margaret Lee Weidmann, Cheryl Messmore, Randy Brown, Chris and Carol Sieglitz, Rocky McKenzie, Larry Parks and Charlie the Switzer Square Cat. They will visit Savannah, Georgia on their way back home in Texas. They were Martha’s house guest while in Vevay.

Gertrude Voris, Carolyn Hysell, Jean Sandidge, Evelyn Smith, Glenda Sullivan and Mark Scott visited Faye Lewis last week.

Margaret Lee Weidmann’s company was: Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown; Kay O’Neal; Julie, Vivie and Lyla Rose Messmore; and Judy and Cabell McKee. Cheryl Messmore is visiting mom a few days. Lorraine Brown and Margaret Lee took Kay O’Neal to lunch to celebrate her birthday.

Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan had a nice visit with Connie Young and her friend Shirley at Bob Evans in Aurora one day.

Get well to Ed Gregory. He spend a few days at Norton’s having a heart procedure. Debbie spent most of that time with him, as did most of his family.

Get well to Bob Wheeler as he has had some heart issues and spent some time in a hospital.

Frances Pike spent some therapy time at Swiss Villa after heart issues and is probably at her home by now. Get well Frances and to all in need.

Sympathy to the family of Dinks Davis of Madison. Dinks married Beverly Chase, a long ago resident of Florence. He was a fine person and they visited friends and relatives and the Church of Christ in Florence many times. He will be missed. I don’t know his real name. Sympathy also to Del Percer-Snook for the loss of her mother and to the Dale Stevens family.
