Florence News 1-8-15


Dale and Danilee Thompson of North Vernon spent a few days at their new home in Florence and attended the New Year’s Eve get together at the Florence Church of Christ with several others for games and good food. Everyone had a good time.

Jeanette and Squeaky Knaus had Christmas dinner for Marjorie Whitham, Christy and Jodi Knaus, Teryn Hinman, Richard and Janet Sullivan, Dana and Ryan Einhaus, Nicola Smoker, Tracy and Devin Seale, Jennifer Craig and her son Nick Spain on Friday.

Cindy and Janice Geis had a Christmas lunch at North Vernon for Richard and Janet Sullivan, Dana Einhaus, Ryan Einhaus and Nicola Smokar, Patty Chase, Tracy and Devin Seale, Bryant Tueley, and Glenda Sullivan.

Faye Lewis spent Saturday with Ron and Jean Sandidge, Tim, Annette, Abby, Parker, and Lexi Deno, David, Olivia and Mia Faye Sandidge. Faye had a nice day out. Her other company was Mark Scott, Cathy DeBaun, Evelyn Smith, Patty Chase, Nadine Swift and Glenda Sullivan, Gertrude Voris, Mike Sawalich and Maxine and Henry Bushman.

Happy birthday to Rita Brogan, Tony Jackson, Mason Pernell, James Brogan and a memorial for my sister Hilda Jewell Lock January 1st birthday.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Charles and Alberta Pickett, Ken and Sylvia Byars, Tiffany Rininger, Patty Chase, Glenda Sullivan all met for breakfast to meet with Nadine Swift from Miamitown, Ohio. Jim and Linda Austin also visited with them. Linda brought some presents of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans for us from Ethan. Thanks, Ethan. Nadine and Patty then went sightseeing and Nadine hadn’t been in Vevay for a while. They also visited Frances Pike and Faye Lewis and ran into Peggy Hilligoss at Switzer Square.

Riley Smith and Grandma Debbie Wilhoite enjoyed a birthday party for Mason Pernell’s first birthday at the home of Barb and Red Wilhoite.

Harold and Donna Scudder and granddaughter Elizabeth Dundes, Brent and Susan Michaels and daughter Riley, Joyce Bailey, Roberta Barton, Evelyn Smith, Dave Scudder and Richard and Bonnie Scudder all met at Jack’s in Rising Sun for breakfast December 27th. All had a delicious meal and a good visit.

Ed Trinkle called from Virginia to ask about everyone and to wish all a Happy New Year.

The Red Hot Red Hat Ladies next meeting will be Thursday, January 15th, at 11:30 at Patron’s in Vevay.

Margaret Lee Weidmann and Cheryl Messmore spent the Saturday after Christmas with Kevin and Jeni Scudder and family and had a wonderful time. Margaret Lee’s company last week was Kay O’Neal, Betty Hargrove, Randy and Lorraine Brown, Donna Miller, Earl and Jerilyn Van Winkle and Cheryl. We send sympathy to the family of Paul Arvin of Carrollton. Molli Arvin Funk was home for a visitation of a good friend when Paul was taken to a Louisville hospital so she was with her dad when he died.

Betty Hargrove, Linda Jones and P.J. Jones went shopping in Florence and had lunch there.

Davy Leap had a nice birthday party for Patty Leap at the American Legion. Lots of good food and many enjoyed it.

Denny and Mary Lou Bowman just returned from a Christmas vacation in Florida.
