Florence News 09/23/2021

The Florence Church of Christ and friends had Sunday dinner at 88 King Buffet to celebrate Judy Lozier’s and Ken Byars’ birthdays. Attending were Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Glenda Sullivan, Gary, Karen and David Wentworth, Patty Chase, Nancy Johnson and Sylvia Byars.

Patty Chase got a nice phone call from Lona Mathews from Seminole, Florida. She had been here for the Vevay High School Alumni a few weeks ago and said she really enjoyed it. Shortly after she got back home in Florida her son Michael Ryan Mathews, 55 years old, passed away. We were really sorry to hear that and send our sympathy to Lona and all the family and friends. Lona also said she got a call from another classmate, Royce Stiening and was really glad to hear from him. Royce said he could not attend the alumni due to another commitment. We missed him.

On Friday Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan made a trip to Madison to take Tracy Seale at the Waters her large Diet Coke, sandwich and fries. They are still not allowing visitors so it was just a drop off at the door.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth camped at Hardy Lake over the weekend.

Mary Archer attended the surprise 80th birthday party of her cousin Mary Lou Lucas, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Tim and Pam Basey, on Sunday. A nice gathering of friends and family, neighbors and coworkers attended.

Katy Turner visited Patty Chase, Jackie Moore, Danny Schuler and others while at Switzer Square. Patty’s company was Denny and Mary Lou Bowman, Glenda Sullivan, Nadine Swift, Linda May Jones, Mary Archer and Smitty.

Glenda Sullivan, Patty Chase, Denny and Mary Lou Bowman enjoyed Saturday evening having pizza in Vevay.
